  • Storywise, Ayane is supposed to be the head of the Hajinmon Sect, but for 3 games now she just comes off as Hayate's lackey and nothing more

I mean, technically that's what the Hajinmon ninjas were, supports to the Tenjimon, but even Genra looked like he was running shit, for what little we saw of him. Ayane has never really given that impression and (sadly) may never get the chance to :,(

or maybe she's just real bad at delegating lol

I'm gonna go on a limb and assume the Hajinmon sect was wiped out by Genra when he acted on his betrayal, leaving Ayane as the only member.
going back to a 3 point hold system is what trips me up the most when going back to DOA2/3, i'll see these slow ass mid kicks coming my way and there I am inputting a hold that doesn't even exist lol

Pretty much me whenever I'm playing 2 Hardcore, my reaction's always like "Oh yeah, I can hold mid punches and kicks the same way in this game".

You guys actually leave 3 point holds on in DOA2HC? Ew.

Its toggleable in Hardcore? Lol I didn't know that, im playing the American vanilla dreamcast version and the Japanese LE version, you can toggle between arcade or home consoles hold inputs but sadly no option for 4 point :/

Dam this just makes me want to play hard-core, classic DOA with 4 point holds sounds like a dream
    (Doa2u)
Been playing alot of Phantom Breaker and it kills me how everyone you meet online is either below rank 5 with a 10-20% winrate or they're above rank 20 above with a 80-90% winrate, there is no inbetween lol
dawg, why the new KH footage look exactly like that first FFXV gameplay reveal?

It's probably because Nomura. Yozora in KH3 as a prime example.

Also the guy does have his own team along with the main team so if you see some familiar stuff you'll probably know why.

Anyways, because of his disappointment for how FFXV turned out and how it didn't originally fulfill the true product of the game and his vision, he was pretty hurt about it in interviews. So to cope for it, he wanted to provide some of those elements to current games. KH3 and so on. The guy legit felt FFXV to be his greatest masterpiece.

So to hear someone say KH4 feeling like it's FFXV is actually not at all surprising lol.
how long does it take for you to settle on a main when you play a new fighting game? a day? a week? couple months? a year? even longer? I'm curious

That would take an entire essay for me to answer, and there are so many nuances to it that it can't be oversimplified.

All I can tell you is that maining Christie was like marrying the closest thing to an ideal woman for me.

In my mind? A couple of seconds. To truly settle on a character and 100% consider him/her my main? 1-2 weeks. For most games that are sequels I just have to see if it feels satisfying enough for me to play them, for example, in the first couple of days of me playing Tekken 7 I thought about making a switch from Hwoarang to Devil Jin because he wasn't as fun as his Tag 2 counterpart.

After playing more with him, however, I decided to stick with the character that I've been maining since Tekken 4 (my first Tekken). Once I get Strive I might switch from I-no to Jack-O/Aria but first I'll have to see if the latter's gameplay is satisfying enough for me to main her. For new games its kinda the same, except the character I'm going to play first is the one that I might like the most out of all of them.

yeah, between this and Tencent slowly but surely acquiring the big names in the business, the video game landscape is gonna get pretty interesting the next couple of years, whether that's for better or for worse has yet to be seen

That's been the case for a long time now... and I think Tencent also still has a stake in them. Great governments to be getting our revenue in turn for kickass fighting games.... -_-' Putin might as well put a stake in them too o_O

When you've spent nearly 2 decades explaining why two 500-year old vampire lolis are the most unhinged and deadliest force known in the history of bullet hell shooters to a person who only plays R-Type games, that ain't shit, my guy.
:) <- my face when Mihoyo gets off their coomer shit and designs a male character
:( <- my face when they sabotage their sales by drip marketing 2-3 waifus that'll be released next patch

We might not get a male character after Ayato up until the Sumeru patch, since next patch's going to be Yelan with 4-star Kuki Shinobu (either phase 1 or 2 for the latter), then there are rumors about 2.8 being a full rerun patch. Tbh, the majority of the playable characters are going to be female around the end of the game, pretty sure that the other 5 archons are all females as well.

    Camel with 2 thumbs
that would be so lame if all the other archons were waifus, but that mostly likely will be the case

we already know the Sumeru and Sneznaya archons are waifus, which just leaves us with Fontain and Natlan, which Dainslief has talked about he's refered to both of them as "she", so i guess it's waifu archon impact for the next 5 years lol
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
The Natlan archon's name is Murata, so she'll most likely end up looking like an archon version of Murata Himeko from Honkai, as for the hydro archon, there's a chance that a specific character in Honkai can become an "archon" relatively soon (there are a few things water related to her ever since her first battlesuit came out), then her Genshin version has a high chance of being the hydro archon.
imagine complaining about 5pp into throw being "fake" and "online only" when your ass is out here doing 6p into throw on neutral hit, counter hit and block...the nerve of some ppl -_-
BOTW2 is getting delayed..AGAIN! oh well, if they honestly feel like they need another year to work on it then screw it, no need to put out a rushed product

My little brother said the same damn thing, bomb and now I'm convinced it's the truth. Elden Ring is just such a fantastic game that people are going to have to go back to the drawing board if they want to make a game as good and as successful as Elden Ring. I didn't bother with the Soul type games other than Nioh and now I'm debating whether or not I play past Soul games.

could be a side effect of being in a post Elden Ring world, who knows lol, but I do remember that the OG Breath of the Wild suffered from multiple delays as well, and look how that turned out, ended up being one of the best Zelda games (maybe even one the best open world games) ever, so if that extra time in the oven is what's needed for greatness then shoo, they can take all the time they need
    Camel with 2 thumbs

plus there's too many games comming out anyway, so this is a much welcome delay lol
Phatom Breaker is one of the few games i've played in recent memory that REALLY punishes you for using normal block, not only is the chip damage mad high, not only does your guard gauge fill up quickly, but it seems like everything outside of DP's and supers are safe if blocked normally
    Camel with 2 thumbs
    Camel with 2 thumbs
I'm guessing this is to counter balance the fact that you can just block by returning the stick to neutral (which makes dealing with cross up insultingly easy), so at the cost of making blocking trivial they also made it not something you want to rely on

I like it, it forces you to be active on defense and use the plethora of universal defensive techniques (parry, reflection, protection, guardpoints, etc)
anyone else remember this gem from the early 2000's
shit just popped in my head after all this time and I can't stop listening to it lol
Phantom Breakers groove system is great (and I wish more fighting games did stuff like it) but it makes the all too common mistake of making 1 groove that's clearly better than the others, thus giving you no reason to explore the other grooves at all :/
    Camel with 2 thumbs
    Camel with 2 thumbs
it kinda does: for most characters quick style (the meta groove) is the uncontested best fit, but there are certain characters who would opt for hard style or omnia style (the other grooves)

Hard style gives you access to an exclusive move that varies from character to character, said move can improve your zoning capabilities, give you an extra mix up option, or can be used for better pressure
    Camel with 2 thumbs
    Camel with 2 thumbs
Omnia style gives you access to a homing full screen 1 button super move that you can convert off of, so it's useful for slow short ranged characters who need something to threaten with while getting zoned out

all that said, I still think Quick style will be the dominant style for players moving forward
    Camel with 2 thumbs
    Camel with 2 thumbs
it's just too useful, you can convert off any hit and it does more dmg than hard style, which is supposed to be the dedicated big damage groove, all at the expense of slightly lower health and less defensive mechanics, but who need defense when you can just kill your opponent off of everything lol
ppl think "My Dress-Up Darling" is a romantic comedy anime, naw son, that shit is some high fantasy

I mean, pretty much every anime where the girl falls for the loser MC is a high fantasy lol. That shit doesn't happen in real life.

you say that, but honestly alot of the side and background characters react the main couple in a very realistic way, like, they these are the conversations that would happen if Gojo and Marin existed in the real world, which gives the show a very grounded feel, which is nice
    Camel with 2 thumbs
    Camel with 2 thumbs
it only turns into Lord of the Rings when it focuses on the main couple, and even the show it'self will call out how absurd it is, so I give it points for being self aware, most anime that pull this shit would act like this type of thing is 100% normal

p.s the only "Hot girl falls for loser MC" anime that actually made sense was B gata H kei, loved that show
Looks like along with a visual redesign, Testament also got his gameplay redesigned, but he's still an Arakune style trap based character so I'm willing to give him a shot
