  • Iizuka just casually talking about how'd he love to make a Sonic Adventure 3 during the Sonic Frontiers interview, don't give these nerds false hope!

Sonic Team has been saying they want to make SA3 for more than a decade now and we got - uhhhh... Lost World... Boom... Forces :/

It would be nice if they had a general idea of where to take the franchise and stick w a direction.

At the end of the day Sega is the one calling the shots, the team would like to make a game but the company's going to be like "No, no, no, you're making THIS game". Even if the "leaks" regarding TN having a smaller team wanting to work on DOA7 was fake, there are situations like these that do happen in other companies.

The ironic thing is that most of their Sonic games end up being disappointing and then they end up going to the fans that make the fan games and just ask them to release their games under the company's name that usually ends up having positive feedback/reviews, which in a way is also the reason why they switch a lot between 2D and 3D. Maybe one day we'll get SA3 but that won't be anytime soon.
SF6 matches look dope, my only concern is the drive gauge and that it regenerates automatically :/

thought we learned that passive offensive/defensive meter regeneration was a trash tier mechanic after MK11 but I guess Capcom said naw, oh well, just hope it's not as detrimental this time around
SF6 modern control scheme seems innocent enough, until you remember the last time SF had a modern control scheme, which was SF4 for 3DS, and we were introduced to the horror of no charge flash kicks and walk forward sonic booms

    I'm sure they will.

But SF4 3D Edition was not the first time this happened. This was also a thing in Super SF2 Turbo Revival for the GBA, and arguably a lot worse.

"Easy" Mode had been around on certain Capcom games: i.e. Marvel Super Heroes Vs. SF. Alpha 2/2 Gold had the option to use super moves in place of the special moves (consoles only).

Don't forget stylish mode for anime games like blazblue a XRD.
Looking at Last of Us remake and i'm just confused, how the hell does a game get remade and remastered in the span of 8 years? that is the ultimate redundancy :/
I've been having dark thoughts lately

thoughts such as "Maybe I should check out Venus Vacation, it's technically a DOA game and it's actually getting updates and support"

@DestructionBomb yeah im well aware you can enjoy gacha without spending a dime, current;ly doing it with Echos of Mana and that Ni No Kuni game that came out recently

my thing is that ive never given 2 squirts of dog piss about the Volleyball spinoffs, but in lieu of DOA being drier than the Sahara desert, im dangerously close to considering it lol, it being gacha is the least of my gripes

Dude I got reeaally tempted by Tina's addition. The vids that came out of it, all dem animations of her and Yuko Nagashima speaking her voice, it's a treasure trove man. I salute everyone who clipped everything worth seeing and saved me the trouble of playing it for myself.

Also, it's not necessary to enjoy the ladies by having to see them as "waifus" and something we must protecc, lol.
Capcom's had a long history of giving overpowered dive kicks to its Chinese martial arts practitioners, let's see if that trend continues with Jamie

well, in terms of SF, you'll pretty much always be plus on block or hit regardless of where you hit them and what button you hit them with; SF is very generous with jump in frames which is why they're so powerful (as opposed to something like KoF or Samsho that require very strict timing if you want to be plus off of normal jump ins)
    Camel with 2 thumbs
    Camel with 2 thumbs
but because jump in's don't change your trajectory you can pretty much deal with all variations of them universally

dive kicks however are a much different story, because they can come out at 3 different angles, can be done at any height, and are hard to react to, this makes them way more powerful, they are however balanced by the fact that u have space them correctly in order to be plus
    Camel with 2 thumbs

rule of thumb is pretty much if the dive kick connects above the waist, you're minus, if it connects below the waist, you're plus, so while more versatile, there is a punishment for throwing it out willy nilly

but even with that caveat the sheer amount of options a dive kick opens up in a SF game is insane
With Capcom being so remake happy, it makes me wonder if they're gonna try and Remake RE5, or are they conveniently ignore that one since people are even more sensitive now than they were back in 2009

One of the early builds of RE4 ended up becoming DMC, lol. Also the first trailer/demo of the game running on Gamecube was really different, more like its predecessors with the slower pace and it was indoors during a stormy night and most of the light came from Leon's flashlight or lightning from windows. Would have been cool if the remake looked to be revisiting that idea.

Oh I see what you meant now but it being the last "classic". Yeah I guess after RE4, the following games had much more mixed opinions. 5 was too much like 4 I guess in terms of gameplay, and 6 was probably the most actiony one but I've seen some people say they loved it for what it was.
    Radiance
    Radiance
Yeah maybe classic was the wrong word choice. I enjoyed RE 5 and 6 for what they were, but they didn't really excite me like previous iterations. RE4 and previous titles were definitely cherished/loved. 5 had it's fan base too, but I'd be surprised if they remade it, but wouldn't complain. If they're looking to return to gritty, "horror/survival" gameplay; I don't think RE5/6 were that games that embodied that.
ah, so in SF6 you start with full drive gauge and have to maintain in throughout the rounds, I kinda really like that

I was gonna say that most early builds have it maxed by default and that it tends to be the usual "subject to change". Is there latest interviews or something regarding it besides leaks?
    Camel with 2 thumbs
    Camel with 2 thumbs
oh wow, i didn't even consider that, yeah it could tottaly be just a build showcase thing, I was just going off what few screenshots we've seen (the non leaked ones anyway), but in those same screenshots alot of them had 0 or very little super meter but full gauge drive and the timer was in the early 90's so i figured that was the round start state

    but I could b wrong

although they did say that when you run out of guage drive you get put into this debuff state where you can get wallsplated for extra dmg, and I assume players are not going to start the round debuffed, made to build gauge, and then work to not have it reach 0 again...

y'know what, fuck it, let's just wait for some official footage lol
land a 20 second combo on your opponent in DOA1-5 = they're dead

land a 20 second combo on your opponent in DOA6= they lost 55% health :/
The drive gauge for SF6 sounds...interesting, seems like a direct response to the lack of creativity and expression that plagued SF5 for years, kinda wish it wasn't meter gated, but i'm guessing that's for balancing reasons
    Awesmic

It's Alpha 3, 3S and SF4 condensed into one package. That's a little more than just interesting.

It's almost as if it's testing the waters for Capcom vs SN--- naaaah, couldn't be.

The game play trailer got no ui yet
huh, Jedi Fallen Order is getting a sequel? seemed like a self contained, one and done type deal to me but oh well, I guess more Star Wars x Dark Soul isn't the worst thing EA can put out
Chun li is one of those characters who always ends up being top tier in the meta, but when you go through the story she's just a jobber who gets her ass kicked by everyone, fingers crossed SF6 changes that up

I'd like to see Yun make his return so that I can finally see Genei-Jin in RTX+Ray Tracing+4K+HDR+244FPS+Settings ULTRA+Motion Blur OFF+UE7+RTX3090 on GPU usage at 80%,

So that we can once again hear the crowd yelling in your local arcade scene going "Eyy! Eyy! Eyy!" every time he lands a hit in and exploding the hype for no reason.

    Oh, and the skateboard too.

Yeah, they did my girl dirty in V. First Bison, then Rashid... but then whooped F.A.N.G.'s ass in the end. But Capcom writers are silly now at days. Still can't believe about the true ending of SFII.
This sh!t is surreal,,, I don't hate it though

There is a mixed feedback regarding this. A lot of people seem to believe that SEGA is trying to profit out of Tekken and that the VF community feels weird that they have to rely on others just to sell (which is small PP energy if you think that. 3D fighters should band together more).

But the big thing is that Harada also wanted this simply because he likes VF.
    Awesmic

I don't think the VF community would've been nearly as angry about it if they backed this up with a multiplatform announcement. I'm sure that's what most of the VF community was expecting after a year of PS4 exclusivity. Why they didn't announce that ahead of time instead of this DLC is beyond me.

Yeah will admit, I think it's about that time Sega start considering moving their future fighting games (VF) to PC and other platforms that isn't Sony.
that Shikimori anime has alot of POV shots of getting pushed around by intense, but cute, looking girls
not my thing but you know someone somewhere is getting off to this lol

FF14 KEK (MMORPG though heh) However, Yoshi-P has considered to make the game even more playable solo and he even thought about a offline FF14 for preservation for solo players if 20 years from now the servers shut down. Unlike most devs, Yoshi-P made all his requests and suggestions come true so:

    Though outside of that

    1) Octopath Traveler
    2) Disgaea series (though we have to define linear for this one)
    3) Star Ocean
    4) Tales series but i'm pretty sure you played.

Probably more but can't think of more off my head.
Played a bunch of doa2 matches on fightcade vs
A pretty decent Ryu player, good to know Ryu's sweep was as broken in doa2 as it was in doa4, shit goes under everything lol

Am kind of surprised that we got rollback for DOA2 before 1 but it is a pleasant one. Only now I realized that you can only stay in 3 rooms at a time, so if I want to be in 3rdStrike, Darkstalkers and the DOA room then I'll have to exit the other game's rooms, hopefully they'll consider giving us the option to stay in more, like 5-10, since they'll be adding even more games in the near future.
