    Someone told me recently: "you act like you invented DOA." I was so dead. I could NEVER take credit from my dude Itagaki like that. I know he was just having a go at me, but shit people are crazy!

    I don't wanna name names or point fingers, but yeah. It's weird to exclude anyone from Team Ninja, let alone Itagaki. Heck, I don't think Hayashi would really approve of someone tearing down a game he helped make that he poured blood, sweat and tears into.

    It's been a long time since 3D fighters have felt this dead. No new VF, no new DOA currently, no word on Soul Calibur even. I'm not against Tekken, more than I'm against Tekken being the only choice.

    Hopefully VF6 at least actually becomes a confirmed thing soon. Kinda funny how there's been way more new 2D FG series over the past decade than there's been 3D ones. If not new IPs, we seriously need some revivals like Bloody Roar, Fighting Vipers, or Power Stone.

    I was about to say that Tekken 8 was picking up steam, but I saw the end of your post. I think it looks fun & can't wait to try it. I don't look for another SC or VF yet until sometime mid to late 2024. DOA is supposed to get a reboot along with Ninja Gaiden last I've heard.

    New Tekken trailer looked terrible unfortunately. Finally got an honest look of the graphics which were definitely not smooth. Gameplay didn't look fun or fluid. I would play VF Kids over this any day of the week. Sorry not sorry.

    Yeah, I don't think T8 is cleared for release, either. Worst-case scenario, Harada stonewalls the entire community, turning them against him or having the playerbase jump ship.

    You saw the latest Japanese sales? lol. I guess it was only a matter of time the floodgates for PS5 would finally open over there, but I never expected a Harry Potter game of all things to be PS5's first real killer app in Japan o_O

    It looks like it's well made for HP fans, but I've never been an HP fan so I don't really care for it.

    Yeah I’ve seen some say it’s GOTY material and that just kind of makes me cringe a bit. The mechanics are not that varied, the characters just look weird to me, there is no coop and I feel like I enjoy old console Potter games more.

    Emery made a discovery that tekken 8 could resmeble doa. They implemented the same stage hazards like doa5lr. Anywho, if I were you ( I know I am not but if I was) wait for a sale on tekken 7 first. Just to get your feet wet. Also play the waiting game with Tekken 8. The temptation of getting it day one is plenty but if you let it marinate for a year or two, the wait will be worth it.

    Go for it. Tekken 7 is still fun to an extent. I'm mostly curious to see how a dedicated generation 9/Unreal Engine 5 3D Fighter will play.

    Except it looks like the way Harada's implementing it doesn't change the arena much. It's not even close to DOA 5, if the recent trailers are any indication.

    The reason I would never quit is because it's how I'm built. I didn't train for it. It's who I am. I've learned to respect people that do quit. One upon a time... I didn't. It's a lesson I learned from experiencing other people's pain and one that I needed to learn.

    Going from 500-5K followers I knew at that point I must be doing something right. DOA5 tournament write-ups and the hype of DOA6 was a lot of fun to report and I think that is where my foundation started, but the reality is that it was the hair service that helped put me over. It was so bittersweet to me that a negative news post is what elevated me, but I try to let my passion and love for DOA shine through that.

    I was also recently asked "well what can help me gain more attention with DOA content?" The first thing is to actually be a fan of the product. I've seen promising creators bash and hang DOA and then they ask why? Because there are fans of DOA that love it and don't want to hear their game get trashed every waking hour. Players can tell if you don't like DOA and are defensive to what they believe makes DOA special.

    It takes time and I started at 0 everything. Take IE @EmeryReigns he was not well received at first and a lot of people talked, but he kept going. Every community has stars regardless of the size and whatever people want to believe he is the biggest star we have along with Rikuto, Ponton, Master, Hoodless, Dbomb, Awesmic, Zakkurye - they fought through the tough shit and people respect that.
