    Just the publisher, Tomb Raider was pretty much all Core Design. Although, I lobe all the subtle references to Lok CD put in TR.

    Kain's human portrait in Legend and Anniversary, the Reaver itself in Legend and Rise of the Tomb Raider. Theming classic costumes with LoK insignia, TR2 wetsuit in Anniversary has the Razielim clan insignia for example.

    The collection doesn't have BO1? Bummer. And BO1 actually tells a little of the creation of the Soul Reaver and the brotherhood of vampires (Raziel's brothers) Its not major but they are brought up later. BO2 is pretty huge lore-wise though, you should get on that whenever you get the chance, early PS2 game, hasn't aged that bad either.
    so hitomi's 2h+k is only +5 on NH, and 1p is minus on NH. so getting tagged with her lows kinda just puts you back at neutral

    Only +5? it's better than nothing. Superheavies like Bass, Raidou and Leon have to deal with that on reaction and commit to make reads after she lands that.

    since after most hitomis land 2h+k they go for either 6t, 6p or 6k, SE into your fastest high works out alot, blows up the throw and beats out her fastest mids. but with slowpokes like bass, raidou, and my main nyo, it can get a little rough even if you SE

    but i guess out of all the slow characters, nyo has it the best with her 11 frame hellstab
    breaks my heart every time i try to whiff punish and it ends up being a counter hit :(

    Some characters have faster recovery than others. You could have a character toss a 21 frame move but the recovery is 16 speed. Don't be surprised if your throw whiffs from that.

    I was talking more about whiff punishing with strikes, since if it's a proper whiff punish, it shouldn't register as a counter hit, and if it is counter hit, that just means that your opponent hit buttons after they whiffed

    that Kim Wu VA, ughhhhh, very rarely will i dislike a fighitng game character based solely on their voice ;(

    dam, kasumis' old parry was like current lei fangs' 4p+k, 'cept it parried ALL highs and mids, and had 0 frame start up, that's nutz

    Yeah, all parries were like that. Was annoying against Gen Fu as he got a guaranteed 8P (lift stun) off his punch parry. So basically you couldn't poke him even if you wanted to challenge his 11i 6P.

    Parries still have 0f startup except Lei's and Bayman's BT ones
    Played DOA5 with some friends who play causally, reminded me of when i could totally suck at a fighting game and still have a good time :)
    when you learn a new character, do you just x-copy what you've seen others do or do you try to add your own flavor?

    i actually avoid watching others like the plague because i dont want to see them do something im unable to. after im comfortable with the character i look for ways on how to get better.

    with the case for my main, I found most of what I know out myself. but for other characters I try to learn from those who are good with the characters.

    any tips on SE'ing out of Jann lee's H+K?, or is it just one of those situations you should strive to not find yourself in?

    Idk, man, I was playing an Ein player the other day and kept getting smacked for CH after I tried jabbing when he was at like -8

    alot times -8 wont mean anything if your reaction is not on point, and taking into account online delay, your reactions are gonna mean even less. it's like by the time your brain goes "okay, it my turn to punish/press buttons" that -8 has turned to 0 and you're back at the neutral

    also, you're opponent is -8 shoudln't you be using a mid or a low at that point? unless your opponent is doing an unsafe string into another attack that has hella start up frames and isn't a crouching move, you should stick to mids and low when your plus.
    learn your max damage wall combos kids, could win you a couple games here and there

    I find that good fundamentals is more important, but knowing a wall combo or 3 helps.

    it's just that i realized that when i take new characters out to fight; because i do all my training in the dojo, i have no idea how to optimize damage near a wall, and it's cost me multiple games
