  • Found actual footage of Honoka before she joined DOA. (volume warning: sounds of female exertion may be misunderstood by people nearby)
No one can deny that this is way too on-point.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/953310/Trajes_Fatais_Suits_of_Fate/ I've been checking in on this upcoming KOF-style Brazilian fighting game to see how it's doing, and looks like they actually put out a beta demo a few months ago and I had no idea. I tried to run it on my crappy laptop but I can't get past the first loading screen. Anyone here try it?

They have back dash and hyper hops. Combo system seems a bit flexible from the first try but there are so few moves that there isn't much to do. The game looks and feels like a demo. The volume of the sound effects makes it seem like a cheap MUGEN. I hope that by now even by today 08/11/2020 that the product is very different. Right now at this point, there is not much of a point to playing it.

I don't see any P next to the version on the bottom right of the screen. I think I'm really just stuck at the first loading screen, I didn't even make it to the menu, lol. Thanks for the help though. Yeah, since it's actually been nearly a year since they put out the demo hopefully they've improved it by now.

I remember hearing about this game 4ever ago, well sh1t if it's finally comming out I'll definetly give it a go
This came up just back at the end of May this year: https://tinyurl.com/y6tzrtjg

Additions to XBO's BC list has been dormant for a while, I think, so when I read this I was hoping they'd announce some new BC games at the Xbox event that just passed, but nope. I think there's still a good chance we'll see DOA1 to DOA4 on XSX tho.

    inochinagi
From what I've read, they're saying XSX will be able to play anything XBO does (aside from Kinect stuff), not that it'll be able to play every Xbox and X360 games right away... though I'm hoping they're gonna strive as much as possible to reach that ultimately.

Hey, I just realized SSX3 is BC on XBO with all it's licensed tracks intact. Maybe there's hope for DOA too.

They did not say "every" Xbox and X60 game right away. Lol

No one is saying that Microsoft said that, we're saying the same thing you are. :p
So now that I can't finish DoA2:H*C cuz my PS2 is ded, and I just finished with DOA3, I've moved onto DOAXBV next (these games released in 2000, 2001, and early 2003 respectively, wow). Man I forgot about the pressure sensitive controls. Playing 3 matches of volleyball each day in the game against confident opponents actually has my arms sore :O

I think the VB is legit fun though. The only other game I get the same feel from is the Kunio series Super Dodge Ball on NES, which was an awesome game. I still think this series had the potential to be so much more than then narrow scope the series ultimately followed... the first game actually both sold well and got pretty good reviews.
Wow, I had completely forgotten about this, but (US) DOA3 literally had nothing in terms of unlockables or single player rewards whatsoever, aside from the endings gallery and Ein, eh? That's probably why I hardly remember playing it... This game could really have used an Ultimate version...

One of the times Europe actually won by getting a game last, we got a feature complete version of DOA3 with unlockable costumes and intro etc.

At least the US version got the booster pack afterwards though, the only problem is that it didn't get the gameplay updates. Japan still wins anyways by getting 3.1, what's ultimately considered overall the best version technically by most competitive fans, apparently... (forgot why tho, I would have thought 3.2 would be)

@inochinagi Agreed. DOA3 for US is barebones! The booster packs were only available if you have DOA2U or getting one of the demo discs from Xbox Magazines. What's worse that we didn't get 3.1/3.2 updates. That's why I was confused that I saw some gameplay with moves I didn't see in my version.
Anyone here have any experience with PS2 hardware issues/repairing? My PS2 slim struggles to spin discs, sputters, then stops spinning. I hope it's not a side effect of using swapmagic too much or something. Dammit, just when I was so close to being done with DOA2 Hard*Core too.
So, I've been playing (well, was playing) Hard*Core (DOA2H Japanese version) and one of the times I was playing through Ein's story, suddenly I saw a dialogue line from Ein I had never seen before between Ein and Helena. I didn't realize what had just happened until it was too late and didn't get to read what it said... I'm sure I wasn't hallucinating. Anyone know anything about this?

Woah, so maybe I'm not crazy. I thought it'd be specific to the Japanese DOA2H though, that's interesting if you saw it in Millennium. Thanks... I'd keep replaying it myself and try to record it if I saw it again, but my PS2 just died, lol................. *whimper*

the Ein/Helena interaction was always there though... was it not in vanilla or something?

lol not the interaction, we're talking about potential additional dialogue that wasn't included in vanilla
Hey guys, HOW DO YOU DO YOU FEEL?

Anyways, I'm still getting killed by DOA2H's "AI", this time trying to unlock Kasumi's last costume in DOA2H for PS2 the legit way (50 wins in survival under default options), so I'm feeling pretty beat up. Safe from covid tho. On a side-note, seems some of the unlocking info on the net for DOA2H is incorrect.

I finally got the Japanese DoA2H (which i'll be playing next) and that song is the intro theme. I thought it was only used in ads. I actually like a lot of Bomb Factory songs outside of DoA ones too. Dat Engrish <3

Got to 50 and unlocked Kasumi's C7, finally.
If you ask me, we're actually in WW3 right now. It's the world vs the virus. The whole world has been, is, or will be affected by this over at least this year and maybe the next, and nothing will ever be the same. Once the world gets this under control, I think society will have changed, the way we do things, the technology we use...
9/11 was the defining moment of my generation, until now.

Hm. Things here have been quiet since the 80s, but even with loans available from international financial institutions there could be civil unrest depending on the conditions. Many essentials services are state monopolies or have state owned enterprises with large market share. All levels of public education are free. Retirement age was already being discussed.

So yeah, I hope this ends soon XD EDIT: On the bright side maybe the Chinese don't care about the ease of doing business index and muh liberalism, only votes.

We all hope it ends soon... but all signs are pointing to "not so soon" :/ All of this triggering a worldwide recession worse than 2008 is a whole other can of worms. I hope no one thinks I'm trying to fearmonger. I subscribe to the idea that "knowledge is power", and at a time like this we should all be gaining all the power we can (not from me, watch the news!).

I've already seen an April Fools video about JSRF coming to the Nintendo Switch and its just 12:48 over here, who knows what fake news people or gaming companies will come up with until the end of the day.

It's fine as long as it's funny or elaborate and maybe even belivable (only reason to doubt it would be because of the date), unlike DOA6 update 1.21a. That's not how to do an April Fools joke.
Today would have been Akira Kurosawa's 110'th birthday. If you don't know who that is, he was a classic and massively influential film director. Even if you haven't seen one of his films, something you have seen or played was influenced by him in some way, including Nioh and even Segata Sanshiro (Sanshiro Sugata).
    inochinagi
    inochinagi
It's actually amazing how far Nioh has come since it's early days of conception back in the early 2000s, and even before that when it was an unfinished movie script by Kurosawa called "Oni". Koei wanted to make the game along with a movie tie-in directed by Kurosawa's son. It even got a Musou-like trailer back in 2005 for E3, before it went into development hell/limbo:

For Kurosawa's 100th birthday I actually binged on his films for nearly 24 hours straight (I think I fell asleep during The Lower Depths, which is really funny, not boring). I figured the least I can do this year is make this post. I'll try to watch a movie later in the day. His movies tend to be as long as they are awesome. Good way to pass the time.
True or False? The Last Blade 2 deserves to be considered and treated like a pinnacle of 2D fighting games as much as 3TS and Garou are.

I always imagined that a high level match at a LB2 tournament would have a silent audience, like people watching a movie or orchastra, and only cheer when its over, lol.

Samsho always seemed to overshadow that game and the only time I've known people to play anything related to it was picking Hibiki in CVS2.

Well I know Tak worked at Konami, made that infamous presentation for Ninety Nine Nights 2, left, and made a music-oriented game for Switch called Gal Metal, probably meaning he has some experience in music himself... but I had no idea he actually contributed to any music in Konami's past himself.
    inochinagi
    inochinagi
Maybe during those days of Konami (those wonderful days) he was known as "hey that guy plays guitar too" and Michiru Yamane got him to contribute on her masterpiece. Maybe he was even part of Konami's Sound Team and his work can be heard on multiple OSTs, no idea.

I've only read that in his early Konami days (1997ish) he did some voice over and localization work.
