  • honestly, after DOA5 and DOA6 i wish they'd just dump the whole sidestep mechanic and just buff sidewalking so you dodge linear attacks by just walking into the back/foreground
you know what's great about NOT being a fan of a long running franchise? you can just enjoy new the shit w/o being shackled by the conventions of older titles

Same with RE3 Remake and all the hate it's getting. I enjoyed it for what it was. Sure, it changed LOTS of things, but I think it is a nice game for what it is, and the classic game will always be there. Idk it's such a waste of time to cry about these things :nyotengu:

Yeah, that's a shame for literally every person that played fighting games Pre-SF4 and Pre-SFV like pretty much everyone in the FGC that's not a 16er wouldn't understand because they DO want shit to be simple or just go against tradition like meterless DPs and SC Ringouts being harder to do.

Can go on about this all day in voice. I am somewhat jealous people can feel that way but I like having an identity and being part of a group that knows the truth and isn't all Happy go lucky about playing everyone's fighting games, instead of actually sticking to 1-2 games and mastering it and nurturing it. People scream for nerfs w/o context then go to the next trend. They're making games for those ppl now. Not us.
Ryu players, what the heck am I supposed to do after I land his advance hold launchers? finishing the Izuna follow up seems to yield the most damage but surely there's more optimal stuff

doing typical 3x relaunch into air grab does less damage and gains less meter, but since I i still see ryu's not finishing the throw I know there's some post izuna launch conversions that makes sense to do
man, just been getting my ass whooped in every ground based 2D fighter I enjoy, but I've been doin' work in all the air dashers I play, clearly this is sign from the universe

"boy u tryin' act like ya got ground game and footsies? get the fck outta here! go back your jump cancelling ass, combos that go one forever ass, mix ups that you don't even know where they're hittin' ass anime games!" that's the message from the universe -_-
I guess proration was of the things that got dropped from Guilty Gear Strive cause HOLY COW THE DAMAGE! Everything just does 50% now!

Issue is that your execution doesn't have to be good in order to pull off all the damage that you can in Strive right now (with some exceptions). A Potemkin buster does 50%, Sol's command grab does 35-40% on its own now. 80% juggles are something that exist in this game and to me it doesn't look like it requires insane execution (again, depends on character) to do it.

Many games can end faster than BBTag matches where a happy birthday occured for one player and the other doesn't get to play at all and that might be concerning. Add the fact that the lobby and online mode was a disaster and we can say that the game is in a questionable state right now when it comes to quality. They'll probably fix things by the time they'll release the game, I hope.

im sure the damage will be revised b4 release, but honestly i wouldnt mind if GGS ended being a "you die in 2 combos" type of game (technically 3 combos 'cause you can burst), it's not very Guilty Gear in concept since big damage traditionally comes from CH's or tricky roman cancel conversions, but i wouldn't mind
Is it just me or does the Lunar staff in NGB kinda...suck

Not suck like how the wooden sword sucks, but suck in like, it never seems to be the optimal weapon to use. It does force you to play differently since it breaks from the whole small weapon, medium weapon, large weapon archetype but outside of offering a unique experience, it just feels underpowered

    It's good at level 3.
hmmm, focus on upcoming Guilty Gear Strive, the airdasher I don't like but ppl play, or focus on Arcana Heart 3 LMSSX, the airdasher I like but no one plays. decisions, decisions...

I could never truly get into airdashers, not that I can't handle the mental stack but instant recovery and lack of punishable moves on block kinda irk me if it isn't like an old FG. I just refuse to accept it as a SF head despite the old SFs being unhonest too. Cat and mouse aspect is too much as well.

Add in the fact that when I was enjoying some, they change/rerelease more than Iterations of SFII plus combo properties and the like. (Looking at you BlazBlue). I actually like 3D FGs more bc no matter how bad you can maybe get beaten, you feel like you engage with intentionality sooner. You don't simply anti-air either/it's not worth the dmg/doesn't condition ppl like in SF.

That said, I see no reason to make them more SF based/grounded just because similar people with my perspective go and whine about it on twitter despite not actually being fans. Perhaps they pay attention to drops in playerbase to make such decisions?
Hot take; Yugioh 5D's > OG Yugioh
    GreatDarkHero
    GreatDarkHero
I don't know if this could be considered a "hot take." The problem with OG Yugioh is that it did not completely follow the idea of the real life meta, among other major issues with the anime itself.

lol do any of the yugioh shows follow the competitive meta of the irl card games, or even follow the rules of it's own game? i don't think so, but ppl hold the first show as gospel since it was alot of ppl's first exposure to yu gi oh; it's kinda like gen 1 pokemon, despite it's MULTITUDE of flaws, ppl love it to death cause it was their first
"Adjusted to allow the hit character to choose between standing/crouching positions after the hit lands." sounds like a big deal, but in practice it doesn't seem to change much
    Camel with 2 thumbs

basically it lets you go into crouch during hitstun after receiving certain attacks that leave you minus enough to gaurentee follow ups, (Kasumi advance punch hold and Nico 236t to name a few), but considering most of the follow ups gone for are mids, being able to crouch doesn't change diddly squat, and in certain cases if you're fast enough you still land your highs

unless this is the start of something bigger I don't see the point of it at all, maybe it's a test for some more developed future concept but who knows, but I am curious to see what they do with it
Bass 4p FINALLY doesn't randomly whiff on crouchers and Nyo's SSS hitboxes have been fixed so her fatal rush juggles work on everyone now, thank goodness
Question, how do stop your opponent from crossing you up during r1f?
    Camel with 2 thumbs
    Camel with 2 thumbs
still a thing that happens and it's still something im not sure how to stop, but it always happens versus very particular opponents so I know they're doing it on purpose, they walk forward toward me, then they do...something and then when the round starts the camera does a 180, our positions swap and my inputs are reversed right b4 the game begins, how do i stop this from happening?
leaks pointing towards a Sonic Adventure remake, dunno how to feel about that...

Did a couple of missions with Sonic and those felt good to play. Want to go back to the game and play it from start to end after I finish Generations completely but I don't think that I'll be doing anything Chao Garden related, def put like 30+ hours into that in SA2 and I literally can't be bothered with it anymore/again. Now that I mentioned that, seeing that in a possible remake would be interesting.

SA1 chao garden ain't great so no judgement here if you decide to skip it, but yeah the sonic sections of SA1 are fun, but then there's the rest of the game and oof, its a mixed bag. The tails and knuckles sections ain't bad, but the amy, gamma, and big sections are ehhhh....

But if we do get a remake the best thing that'll come out of it is that we'll get another full 3D sonic game (partially). Not the post-color model where it's half boost to win and half awkward 2D platforming, just a fully 3D environment where sonic go wherever and do sonic things, that's all I want!
Ninja Dog mode is someone's fetish and that is upsetting :(

think about it, you get to play as Ryu wearing his gimp outfit while being talked down and berated by sassy ninja Ayane for an entire game? somebody somewhere was getting off to that :/

That’s a bit of an extreme take on the real mode lol. It was meant to be a way of making the game a tiny bit easier at the cost of reminders that you’re doing poorly when you die.
total rip off of Luigi is Whack 3 , but it looked like fun so I made one too

I prefer to fight well rounded, high-usage characters because it's useful to know the match-up more. Underused characters make me go, "Why should I learn the MU?" People who pick Low T to be different and not actually to be good. When I chose Mak in SSF4 it was to be good n her tools stood out. Still my best char.

she's less Zangief and more like an even worse T7 Heihachi; whilst Heihachi is known for having great highs, great mids, but punishable lows, Nyo has okay highs, okay mids, AND punishable lows, this kinda makes her "hard reads" the character, and yes while making hard reads is part of any fighter, when it's all you can do cause you lack the tools to play solid, it can be quite stressful long term
    Camel with 2 thumbs
    Camel with 2 thumbs
this is why I rarely pick her these days (despite what the video shows lol), my secondaries get alot more play just cause they actually have the tools to play DOA and have some say in how the match plays out, but all that said, Nyo is still my best character by a long shot, which sux but hey, that's the path I've chosen and I just gotta live with it
playing a RPG this weekend and it's NOT FF7 Remake? Heresy!

    Why? It's shit.

Playing Iceborne, not that MonHun really counts as an RPG.

Wish I'd waited for the Steam release of Remake so I could at least refund it after two hours of cringing.
