  • Prepping for Elden Ring by going back to my roots and playing some OG Dark Souls, and holy cow I don't remember the game being so slow, to paraphrase Jacky Bryant "Feels like I'm moving in slow motion!"

From Software's games are incredibly slow and sluggish. I can't go from Nioh or Code Vein to a From Software game. Bloodborne was the closest that I could tolerate.

Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, and Sekiro are definitely the games you play when you need a Fromsoft game with some speed, guess I just got used to fast pace of the later games cause it definitely feels like night and day now, didn't feel like that before lol
shopping for retro games is a trip, either the games are selling for dirt cheap or going for over 400 dollars :/

Parasite Eve & Legend of Dragoon need remakes. Those two titles are disgustingly underrated. A Parasite Eve Remake with FFVIIR's production values would be seriously ace. Especially after playing REmake 2, REmake 3 & RE8: Village.

This is single handedly why I got into emulation again recently

Not the biggest fan of emulation but when classic games cost more than a month of rent, emulation begins to look real nice
ngl, PS5 loadtimes are sick, sick enough for me to shell out for 1? hell no, but they are sick nonetheless

I get what you're sayin', of course there's great multiplatform titles that are optimized for current gen so buying a console for them is a wise purchase, but for me exclusives will always be the deciding factor

if im just gonna play multiplatform I might as well stick with PC, which is what i'm doing right now, but that may change in the future, just waiting to see what Sony and Microsoft got up their sleeves

If you have $2,000-$2,500+ to build/buy a PC that is on par or tops the performance of an XSX or PS5, then yes, PC is a recommended platform. I have a $1,500+ gaming PC and both my XSX & PS5 top it pretty soundly. I hate how expensive the "PC Master Race" is haha. Seriously though, exclusives are overrated in the 2020's compared to a few console generations ago.

There's too many games available right now to focus on exclusives. I currently own 97 Xbox Series games and 74 PS5/PS4 games. You can imagine how big the backlog's been at times haha. If I only focused on exclusives, I'd have, like, only 5 or 6 games total in my library? (I tend to avoid the more "rubbish" games like Godfall or something like Crackdown 3).
So does all K-pop sound like early 2000's RnB pushed through a Korean filter? cause that's the feeling I get every time I dip my toe into the genre :/

    wow, lotta KoF

but I gotta agree with @UpSideDownGRUNT, there's alot of heat coming out in 2022, new SF, new KoF, possibly new Tekken, DNF, and whatever NRS is working on, but frankly I don't see myself playing any of them

Phantom Breaker Omnia's the only one on my radar and thats mostly cause I was already wanting to play that shit back in 2013 but it never got localized until now

It doesn't exist yet, so I am content with what I currently enjoy.

finally getting around to playing Skies of Arcadia, time to see if it's just an overhyped nostalgia fest or an actually decent game

Very fun game. I never played the updated GC version (Thought about emulating it at one point), but I did have a blast on the Dreamcast version.

Pretty underrated game and one of the RPGs I do hope they bring back along with Grandia.

Grandia at least got a PC port and an HD collection, Skies is still locked between 20+ year old technology, which is annoying but hey I got a working Dreamcast so I guess I can't complain lol
    Hayate makes you block a i30 kick, he's +2
Jann lee make you block a i30 kick, he's -5

Rig & iirc Pai, had a move that's like -12 on block but the recovery is 14. That particular move from Rig also doesn't get punished offline because it's a risk & has a follow up so Rig players use it as a FC block check mixup, but from a visual perspective on the way the attack looked from both Pai or Rig looks like it's suppose to be huge recovery because of how the move looks visually in animation and weight.

DOA5 had a weird hard on for making moves that recovered in 14 frames, Bass 33pp and Mila 6pk (or was it 6pp? can't remember) were like that and to top it off they were safe, so doods were always just mashing afterwards, even on on block, thankfully alot of that stuff got toned down but you still have characters like Rig who have moves that recover obnoxiously fast for no reason, TKD privilege I guess

It's Mila's 6PP. The Mila "mash special". It's -11 on block and 18 recovery frames. Don't bother throw punishing this move and just take the counter-hit since people will mash afterwards. It's a understated thing in general, but I do know of players that get thrown off by DOA's lack of visual checks/clarity. Particularly Tekken & SC players. It's one of the things that Namco's fighters do well.
Got my Dreamcast up and running on my HD monitor, which is great 'cept for one teeny tiny problem, forgot the dam thing needs external VMU's if you wanna save your games :/
if you played Halo 4-5 and were expecting some sort of payoff for the whole "Cortana's going evil" plotline, Halo Infinite's story is going to piss you off :/

You WANTED a payoff to that overused plot?

Granted, they traded one clichéd plot with another for Infinite but at least they're trying to get as far away as possible from 5's trainwreck story.

I always though Cortana going senile was one of the more interesting plotlines tbh. and yes 5's story was just a bunch of fluff that amounted up to nothing, but that glimpse into bad guy Cortana was one of the few saving graces

so when the whole thing just gets handwaved in Infinite with a simple "oh yeah she died offscreen, a pity, let's move on" can't help but feel a little cheated
New dlc for DBZF? Thought those fools were done with that game, oh well, ppl like Labcoat 21 so I guess its fine
I love my KI peeps, I really do, but it fcking brings my piss to a boil when they talk about "KI is the only fighting game where you can interrupt combos if you guess the right hit level"
