No he literally credited DOA for multi tiered stages in MK. Verbatum. It's taking an idea and moving it to the next level. There's a difference between walking and sprinting. Yeah it's the same concept, people with legs. One just took it another level.

Level of integration makes a world of difference. You can grasp at starws and find similarities in anything and everything.

Funny how Ed Boon himself said he integrated multitiered stages into MK:D because he was influenced by DOA.

Integrating QTE into a fighting game hasn't really been done before, not at this level anyways. The level of detail in everything also hasn't been done before. Seriously, boob fucking sweat. You'll see it next gen on Capcom and Namco's fighters, dead serious too.

She had a BKO side step cancel in DOA3. It just depends on what they decide to do with her in the system to warrant it.

If DoA5 is not delayed, fear the worst

I don't think time would have helped NG3.

NG3 Making Folks Wary of DOA5

We'd all be with them if we didn't get to try the demo out for ourselves.

GamesTM: Dead Or Alive 5 “the next step” for fighting games, says Team Ninja

Isn't there shaking in raft stage once you hit the wall? Akria's trademark attacks cause screen shaking too, they did in VF5 iirc. It would be nice if it could turn off for players that it interfers with.

GamesTM: Dead Or Alive 5 “the next step” for fighting games, says Team Ninja

The demo stage is interesting, the craziness is sort of controlled. You make it happen and it only happens for a few seconds. Whereas something like the dinosaur level is always random and never controlled. There's really nothing worth banning in the demo stage.

    DOA5 Demo: Consolidated Feedback

Kokoro? Hmm, not sure. Not as much. Grapplers worked harder in 4 because they sucked. Then you have a system that requires links/just frames, which DOA in general doesn't have.

Is DOA5 the first game that could be "Fighting Entertainment"?

That's entertaining for all the wrong reasons.

    DOA5 Demo: Consolidated Feedback

Cramp free in the sense that there aren't many complicated motions, most players have access to a characters full arsenal without having to hit training mode just to work on timing. Total opposite of say a character like Viper in SFIV and Patsuka in SCV, where you have to get past a totally...

GamesTM: Dead Or Alive 5 “the next step” for fighting games, says Team Ninja

I think the whole point was to include interaction in a new way. 75% chance you'll kill off half a lifebar is nothing like in DOA4. Don't throw, take the risk of losing the damage by being predictable or take the gamble to mix up and maximize damage. The attacker is the one in the drivers seat.
