Hold That! DOA Compilation Tournament Series

The NEW and upcoming 'Hold That!' Tournament Series is quickly becoming one of the largest and most ambitious Dead or Alive online event projects that we have seen yet at Free Step Dodge. Johnny the Flash plans to pay tribute to DOA by hosting online tournaments for almost every game in the epic saga. This is a new era of tournament planning and coordination, and it all started with Dead or Alive 6.

I've updated the listing. There will be general highlights from me, but overall Regular Tournaments/Weekly/ Monthly or Online that show consistency will get a news post that is updated after each new series tournament. Only Major/Minors will get big tournament writeups from me, but I think this is the clearest and most concise way to keep things organized.

You can see the blueprint I'm following by not only checking out this page, but also by looking at Z-Axis by Dragon NINJA; there I am still archiving results. But I plan to do this for Hoodless Live Series and also for the Japanese Arcade Series which have both proven their consistency.

Now while considering the archive per series thread when there is a Rankings Page here that could also be looked into. I'm not sure how I feel about ONLINE tournaments being on the rankings page. It gives off the aura that one person could unfairly be deemed as the number one on our leaderboard just because they entered their own tournament almost every time (no offense to Hoodles, and I do believe that he is one of the best) but I am not high on these series events being added to the ranking page, but perhaps a poll or something of that nature could rationalize this.

Once again, I don't think online should be added to the ranking page, but if I was outvoted on this thought by administration or players that'll change - though I do believe it should be open for debate.

My last words for this post are to @Knitkap if you haven't planned to already, I would highly recommend that you export your tournaments to YouTube or entice Johnny the Flash to. Twitch has HORRIBLE past stream preservation, and it will eventually delete your event completely. Please follow the blueprint of series streams such as Hoodless Live or Z-Axis. Thanks!

Congratulations to FSD's founder, Matt Ponton for winning the second tournament from "Hold That!"

Does anyone have the replay? I'm still not seeing these replays show up on the YouTube channel that does promo material for future tournaments so that's a big-time bummer.

Here is the Twitch replay for now, but it won't be preserved for long so for those that haven't seen it watch it while you can and follow the organizer for more tournaments.

The grand final was felt extremely high level, and it was a heated poking and zoning contest between Ponton's Ayane and Hoodles' Zack. I LOVED IT.
