NINJA GAIDEN Returns to EPIC 2D Action

After many years of not seeing any action at all NINJA GAIDEN returns to a classic style in an all-new side-scrolling action game that is NOT created by Koei Tecmo or Team NINJA, but instead Dotemu & Game Kitchen which isn't actually a bad thing when pertaining to a 2D return of the franchise.

Dotemu is known for reviving classic games such as the golden era of Final Fantasy, and Streets of Rage IV along with the more recent TMNT: Shredder's Revenge; so, you know right away that NINJA Gaiden as a 2D game will be in safe hands and will undoubtedly be a ton of fun considering the publisher's pedigree in the market. Many people think that DOA could return in a similar fashion, but with Koei Tecmo doubling in size it's hard to say until Team NINJA announces their next project.

The storyline is where things get really interesting. Apparently, Ryu Hayabusa goes on a journey to America to honor his father's will and in his leave the Hayabusa village is attacked by demons as the barrier is broken between the demon and human worlds. Kenji Mozu is forced to fight as a member of the Hayabusa clan, and as you can tell by the beautiful cutscenes and the insane ninja moves, like Ryu Hayabusa; he doesn't play!

A new 2d Ninja Gaiden has been long over due especially with how popular the messager was. Just sad that this makes it over a decade and 2 games in a row sense Ryu has been the main character in a Ninja gaiden, if Momiji was the main character it would been more understandable. Hope this game doesn't end up following the same fate as that new Prince of Persia game

The early gameplay shown looks promising. The cutscenes gave me Dragon Sword vibes from the old underrated DS game. They had a cool comic style there.

Koei Tecmo and Team NINJA are paying attention to the project and it is in association with them and it’s already in reputable hands.

I think it’s going to be a solid title. Will be playing on launch for sure.

Interesting that they introduce a new character as the protagonist. I will try this game (I haven't even continue playing the collection on the Switch). If this perform well and sales are good, Kenji may crossover to DOA, if Koei Tecmo and TN are ready.

I was super excited when I saw that. Another reason is that i'm personally a huge fan of Metroidvania styled games and why I enjoyed Metroid: Dread so much, NG currently gives me that vibe.

The new Ninja Gaiden possibly may not be one of that expanse compared to Metroidvania (if it is, that'd be amazing), but it's the sense of immersion of an adventure vs the typical side scroller games of just going through the stage in a linear path. Day 1 purchase for sure.

Love That Classic Vibe In Trailer. For My Opinion, In Sense Of Style It s Way Better And More Canonical Than
Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, So I Will Be Play In This Dotemu Project With Great Pleasure. If we Get Ryu - as One Of Protagonists - Amazing. It s Maybe Real, Because Side Scrollers\Beat em Ups For Few Characters as Usual. So... I Will Be Waiting. It s Not Team Ninja Game, It s Dotemu Game - Don t Forget That. And Virtua Fighter 6 Looks so Amazing.

Im ready for this. But giving NG to another team is really giving me yaiba vibes, lol.

Not entirely a bad thing. Some games out there had actual success from another source doing the work. I get Yaiba left a bad impression of passing projects to other studios, but I do believe it was just at the wrong place of time and on the wrong hands of a studio.

It just so happens that Yaiba was given to a random studio that went bankrupt. There were definitely top studios out there that TN could of let handled if they didn't go lower.

thats true and for the record, I didnt fully hate yaiba, for what it was. Just always want the best for the games.
And im super excited for this new 2d title. I hope for an unlockable Hayabusa. Or even momiji like ng ds had.

Blasphemous with a NG reskin. I was hopeful that when they showed the game so early at TGA that we would get a sneak at NG4 near the end of the show but alas...

Blasphemous has different mechanics. They are both 2D and both characters wield swords. Two similarities. I don’t hear anyone else griping about it.
