I hope I'm not bugging anyone but are voice clips from the characters able to be extracted or is it not possible yet like the stage music?

you can extract these with this crude little tool
http://www.freestepdodge.com/threads/pc-community-mod-resources.5565/page-84#post-283717

problem is the program is only showing the encrypted file name, so you have to do some searching for the right files

edit: this should help somewhat

I took 5 minutes playing with that tool and found the audio for the ayane/ayame scene in DOAD... umm. odd.

It's no surprise. The game was basically built off of DOAD. In earlier versions on the 360 you could find the TN logo video for the 3DS.

I am so curious about xws file so took a little time and did little research.
*** If someone already know how to extract and playback then please let me know. ***

I opened some xws files with Binary Viewer. Those are screenshots.

http://www.mediafire.com/view/z5mjqac5r4f7q61/screenshort_of_xwsfile2.jpg

Those tell me:

- Very few readable part. 'XWSFILE'(highly likely header word for tell what kind of the file is) and 'KWB2.2' only.
- Many areas filled by 0. You can't get nothing from series of 0s by any kind of encoding or encryption.

Here is details of l1g file for comparison.

We already know what Techmo/Koei did with this file format.
They packed one or more ogg files then encoded with very simple formula(that is absolutely not encrypting). And encoded only very early part only, leaves many readable data like 'OggS' from everywhere. And very few '0' filled area. Only small part of header area and that's it.

Then I searched entire DOA5LR folder for the term 'XWSFILE' and 'KWB2.2'. 'XWSFILE' found in game.exe only once. And no 'KWB2.2'. anywhere.

Below are my gess and possibilities:

- If Techmo/Koei follows what they did, then new sound format may have similarity with their original l1g format, which is simple and heavily depends on OGG format. Applied encode only, no encryption.

- If xwsfile is the result of some kind of encoding, then large '0' areas are simply waste of space/machine power.

- And if game.exe has decode function of xwsfile, then somewhere there will be 'KWB2.2'. I checked standard C format and Unicode format but no hit.
- But has 'XWSFILE' word in game.exe, so game.exe checks its header when open these xws files.

- Then, what they are doing with xwsfile(s)? No 'KWB2.2' means game.exe doesn't care the rest of data.

- Which means just passing the data from to somewhere else???

So far, these are all I know right now. I will keep research of xws files.

Any luck with your research? I'd really love some voice data.
