Yo Emperor!

Amazing tutorials! Thanks for all your time and effort. A noob like me learned a lot by watching these.

Could you do a write up about movement and/or the gameplan? What is the main fightingstrategy in DOA?

Also, when I look at the moveslist in the game, what does SP behind a move mean?

This is great for newcomers (and also good to watch for ppl coming in from DOA4). I appreciate the effort because it will go a long way to help out new players.

I know this will sound unreasonable, but do you think you will make a video detailing the changes brought about in Ultimate? This would bring everybody up to speed in a quick way with visuals. I know it must have taken a lot of time and effort to make these vids as-is, but I'm just throwing out an idea, if time ever permits.

I'll reply. SP next to a move is the label for "special" stance, moves that leave the character in a different stance (such as back turned, Flamingo, Jakeiho, Bending stance, and so on).

In terms of gameplan and fighting strategy, that depends on the character. This is where the character boards come in. Some characters have great launchers, some have great setups to bait holds, and some can even attack without worrying about holds. Some are great at offense and others at defense. Some work great with big launches, some with small launches, and others without focusing much on launches. Work with your character and figure out his/her strengths and weaknesses, then figure out opponent strengths/weaknesses AND patterns.

As a rule of thumb, holds are a common way of "getting out" and ppl may try them to stop you. Find opportunities to work against holds (mixups, bait holds for throws, doing stuns with long animations, launching, slamming against wall, etc.) and use them to get your damage and/or gameplan (such as staying close or spacing out) going. Use your character's tools to get the damage/setups you need. The environment is a huge factor in DOA because it can grant huge advantage and can eliminate hold opportunities or even wakeup kicks. Stuns, launches, and avoiding both of these are also a big part of the game.
