Community Learning from the Japanese Players

This is old news to me...that's how it's always been over there. Their culture is different than ours, competitively speaking. There is a mutual respect for other competitors regardless of skill level. Egos need to go on both sides of the aisle for the community to grow, and more importantly...

DOA5U "Perseverance Will Always Prevail" : The Gen Fu DOA5U Thread

Oh alright. I'll pick up a cheap one. I'm on my phone too actually. My laptop crapped out on me, finally. Running it for 2 years without a working fan will do that lol. It was cheap anyway though, not worth replacing

DOA5U "Perseverance Will Always Prevail" : The Gen Fu DOA5U Thread

Oh, right. Damn block, I forget about that lol. The 33p seems to be just fast enough to hit at 15 frames. The 16 frame 64p gets blocked. Oh well

DOA5U "Perseverance Will Always Prevail" : The Gen Fu DOA5U Thread

Huh. I've got the stagger and critical hold set to fastest and the computer gets hit with 33p, 64p, and 236p after sitdown. I think what's going on with the back hit thing is this: If you go to training mode and stand as close as possible with closed stance. Watch the com move, they sway...

DOA5U "Perseverance Will Always Prevail" : The Gen Fu DOA5U Thread

The 236p move is very peculiar. It seems random, but Fu can ge to the back of the opponent sometimes after a stun. I'm playing around with 3pp on counter hit for a sit-down, then 236p. Sometimes he hits the back, sometimes not. Has anyone figured out this weird happenstance to make it...

I'll find a use for that 7k lol

DOA5U "Perseverance Will Always Prevail" : The Gen Fu DOA5U Thread

Oh, there we go. After the 3p tech up is a good use for 214 pp. I didn't realize it was safe either. It covers a significant amount of distance as well, just slow and could get interrupted if you use it outright. But it does push the opponent back a little when blocked. I'd say that's not...

DOA5U "Perseverance Will Always Prevail" : The Gen Fu DOA5U Thread

Yeah, a few of Gen Fu's moves are hard to find a practical use for. The only useful, er, use for 9k and 214pp I've found is to use, 214pp to catch up to opponent after the 9k, unless they stagger escape fast. Or you can tack on the 214pp after using something like 6p+k to get that one last hit...

DOA5U "Perseverance Will Always Prevail" : The Gen Fu DOA5U Thread

I'll add some stuff just to keep the thread going. This is a guaranteed combo string if you are in close with the opponent, and are in an open stance (ie your left foot is forward and your opponent's right foot is forward): 9k, buffer 66p, buffer 64p, 8p, 6ppp+k - 81 damage (no counter...
