Because by far, the DOA community is the least toxic among the FGC I've been. It's not as retarded as the Tekken, Soul Calibur, or Smash community.

And most of them take so much pride with their game. They're always like "Tekken is much better than DOA" or "The females in Soul Calibur have much better design than DOA girls. DOA girls are boring with only boobs and no personality".

In almost every popular DOA video, there's always someone who is b!tching in the comments saying that their fighting game is better than DOA. And they're always like "Go play a real fighting game".

Actually, there are players from the Tekken community who plays DOA both in a positive or negative light. It seems to be the least toxic in the "offline" scene probably due to the fact it hasn't garnered a great amount of fanbase as its opposite FG rivals, but online the toxicity has made its effect to the DOA community for quite sometime now also just in video games in general.

Most FG communities that are not DOA don't like DOA and DOA is extremely toxic online.

@Kyo Yeah, I'm aware because I've seen Tekken players play DOA, but most of them play other fighting games, not just Tekken and DOA. So they're just fighting game players in general.

Tekken community mostly toxic on the social media side because they abuse that no one gets physically hurt. But when it comes to the offline scene such as tournaments, they try to act nice because just to hide their negative image.

DOA is definitely one of the games where it can't play the nice hero either. DOA community is a lot smaller so you either haven't encountered it or haven't been in the community long enough to encounter it. But because DOA community is a lot smaller the toxicity is a lot more potent.

@Radiance When it comes to online playing, I think I'm fine with that as long as it's not the community from social media because I find it to be a common thing in online gaming that there's always someone with a mic who likes to swear and scream, which is why I limit people who can communicate with me.

Also which Tekken players play DOA? - As for the main status, it really comes down to people. If you bring stupid people, you'll get stupid results. Tekken can be a massive pool of egos but there are people in Tekken that are too lazy to try other games or simply because they are already used to playing their game and they don't want to make the switch.

As far as I know, it's only a few. Someone like EnvyDesire who is dedicated Jin player who plays Hayate. But he also plays Street Fighter and KOF. He just loves fighting games in general. V_Dimetrious as well, but he wasn't a consistent Tekken player before Tekken 7 came out.

"Community" can be vague here, but every source of community regarding DOA has been pretty niche+bad with the exception of FSD (maybe). This site doesn't make the community, but I consider here to be a more sane community than any other DOA community that's out there. Online portion included.

Never heard of those players that tried DOA. Not that it matters at this case, but crazy Tekken people are always welcome here. If it goes south, the mods will take care of it since DOA's competitive spirit was overshadowed by Ryona vids and DOAX3.

I had a hard time trying to explain what I meant about "DOA community" because there's the online gaming community, offline, and the social media, but I tried to refer the social media DOA community.

In comparison to Tekken Zaibatsu and 8WAYRUN, FSD is a lot less toxic compared to the two. Tekken Zaibatsu is full of judgmental elitists and 8WAYRUN is randomly impulsive.

They're not tournament players or anything. They're just players who play their fighting games. I'm not really keen when it comes to tournament players.

Tekken Zaibatsu has been quite nice to me when I went to that site. Course, it's probably the case that I've encountered people who are pretty sane which is all a random factor here of what you'd encounter.

and we don't have elitist nor impulsive behavior here? You're bound to see it more frequently on those forums because their member base is much bigger.

Not to say that the other sites are the perfect angels (which they are not, every FG has the big apple dipped in fecal matter), but there are times where one would also like having those players from Tekken/SC/VF to be on this site and support this game like they do. Some of the support that people do for DOA is equivalent to what other FGs competitive do, but those games have a "lot more people" doing it.

Tekken has a huge base so the chances of encountering such problems is pretty huge and makes one feel uncomfortable just sticking around there so it makes sense. Still think it was the random factor being involved since DOA can be no different depending on where it's at.

@Radiance It still has since elitism is common in the FGC, but to an extent, it's not as high as Tekken or SF that they have LTG attitude. I took a look at the older posts from old and inactive threads, it has some cancerous bullying, unsurprisingly, but I saw a lot worse from other FGC.

I'm technically a Tekken player since I didn't get into DOA until DOA Ultimate[DOA1+DOA2 collection] (though I had played DOA1 and OG DOA2 before that).

But I gotta say a lot of FGC communities are bad, ESPECIALLY the Facebook comments... Every time I see them I cave my skull in from face palming so hard.

Yeah, I've seen a few people here who are not originally DOA fans, like DOA is not their first fighting game. But I often see people who are Tekken-only players have a different personality compared to those who play 2 or more fighting games because most people who only play one fighting game are heavily influenced by the culture of the community from their main fighting game.

That's just my experience of course.
