I like how it looks. Looks sleek with some nice style with the poster cards, and shows off the amazing character models and animation on the character select screen. In the future, I hope that the number of character portraits on the select screen don't potential overlap and encroach on the character portraits' space. For instance, DOA5LR has 36 character portraits. DOA6 looks like it can hold 30 character portraits
full body models are neat but the UI is too basic, lacks the sleekness of pre-5 or the details of 5 and looks like stock engine assets. the vertical layout lets you see both characters' bio, sure, but it's not important information and they should just do horizontal for familiarity's sake
also after SCV the last thing i want to see in a character select screen are cards
Keep in mind that I've only seen the UI for a two player match. The older DOA's displayed the detailed information for a single player session. The DOA5 info missing are the PowerBlow & PowerLauncher inputs per character, which are irrelevant now. The cards are clever and look great. I also like the brighter background. TN can still touch up the UI before release next year too.
It looks really good and the cards are cool. If DOA6 is supported for as long as DOA5 and more characters are added they could just make the boxes smaller in an update to fit more characters.
