Join a trade union and learn if you have a shitload of free time and unemployment. its one of the best things I could have did. And yes NYC is oppressively expensive.
@Dr Snipe I was referring to apprenticeship. My cousin is one for plumbing and he's not all there either. No offense, Mario. So, that might be one route. All my cousins are plumbers but they work in the sewers installing pipes. I can stand the smell of shit but shit.
Eventually your nose will burn out. Garbage men have told me this. I've worked a deli, messenger, catering, janitor and my current gig. And I've been working since I was 16 with odd jobs. Point is there are things you can do to make some money on the side. If you can ride a bike and be on your best behavior I can get you something in June one of my co workers is going on vacation and I'm not to thrilled about doing
When it comes to work, I'm always on my best behavior. Hmm...I'm assuming it won't be like the movies where you simply toss the newspapers at the doors? Do you get a straight route and just put stacks of paper in apartment lobbies or near the mailboxes or is it only one particular subscription?
