i feel ya. i feel like people get mad at/make fun of me because i play games for fun and i don't have a single competitive bone in my body. that's probably why i love dnd

Tournaments are the one big thing for fighting games as it is what keeps them going, so it makes sense competition is extremely prevalent in fighting games. Though I feel like there should be a balance between enjoyment and competition to get the most out of them.

I understand that very well, but competitive games aren’t doing it for me anymore. I’ll lay off them for a while.
