Hopefully they'll make the rules less vague since they should imo make T rated or above games not kid friendly by default. It shouldn't be my fault if a child decides they want to search tekken or DOA videos since children play anything nowadays xD
Honestly, I'm not really worried. My channel is not monetized in any way but I'm pretty sure this whole thing is gonna backfire big time. There's just too many consequences of this dumb rule since its not just Youtube that's affected. This applies to ALL video streaming websites, so backing up your videos to another site might be pointless since everywhere is subjugated to the same rule.
@samuraihachi monetization or not videos have to be flagged. I'd be safe and flag them. You don't want to be wrong or leave it up to the robot. It could get very expensive if you get flagged.
But that’s the thing. Even if we flag things correctly, the bot/FTC might think otherwise. Their definitions of what’s considered “kid-appealing” are so fucking vague that literally anything could fall under that category. DOA is obviously not for kids but these idiots who are ignorant of gaming and internet culture will not understand. Which is why I think this will backfire. You can’t regulate this.
