I'm pretty sure we're gonna end up with a good product overall. Some guys might not get Tengu but come on... we have 29 perfectly cool characters already. The DOA cast is much cooler than the ones in others fighters. Even Alpha is pretty badass.
Weeeell I actually don't like Alpha I thought in 4 wow I really wanna play her. Now that I have played against her I regret that decision. What a terrible character I know two Tengu users use her so yeah. Not every Tengu user hates her, but then not every Tengu user likes her. I too have hope 5U will turn out good even without Tengu, but we'll see.
Oh that guide today I finished quite a few sub sections. The sub sections I just finished is Tracking, SS Moves, Crushes, Frame Traps, just finished Open/Closed stance. I'm now moving onto Limbo/Slip Stuns. Then got Holds/Untechables left and that would be one main section done.
After that the next main section is her throw breakdown into the last section oki/vortex. I never mentioned this before, but yeah this guide its a meaty one. I put a lot of info in it. I already got plans to post 5 times in a row for it. Simply for spacing/editing purposes. I'm getting there slowly but surely.
Koompbala that's cool. I'm having a lot of problems implementing FT with Tina though, I just don't know what to do after I force them up so I sometimes just ground grab. lol
Well there's a lot to frame advantage. The very concept of frame advantage is not properly used in most cases. Stuns that stun lightly, frame traps, FT's. For example this is coming from experience in other games too not just DoA. Frame advantage is all about math luckily though you can calculate all the math in training and you don't need to calculate frames as you fight.
The example I was talking about lets say someone does a move that gives slight advantage. Like +2 when a person gets advantage it gets to ones head and they think "Oh hey I have advantage that means I can do anything". I can do something that's 30i! No that's not the case just because you got advantage. That does not mean you are free to do anything.
Its about knowing your own frames and the opponents. You get +3 do a 23i move that means the opponent is free to do a 19i move or faster. Thats also without the possibility of ever clashing. So the idea here is to know how much advantage you have after doing a FT then doing that will match the opponents fastest attack "a jab". Everything is stronger than a jab so it will beat it out when it matches the speed.
6H+K with Tina gives +9 so that means as long as you do a 19i attack. That will hit at 10i and as long as its stronger than a jab of course. You can do something 19i or faster against a 10i jabber. Go against a 9i jabber and that 9i jab will beat your 19i attack that comes out at 10i. What you should take from this is you don't even need to know every frame of your opponent.
Yes and no really everyone's is compared to Baymans OH. Her OH gives good oki it leaves her at the perfect distance as long as the opponent doesn't move their wake up kick will whiff. If you land her OH when the opponents back is against the wall you get a free ground grab. which brings it up to like 70+ damage.
I too thought it wasn't that great til I realized those two things about. Its also 16i OH so that also is a good thing about it. There are many opportunities that Tina gets after certain frame traps where she is able to do a 66T.
Cool. Another thing: Do you recommend using 44T and 64T~4T as frame advantage tools¿ I usually just try to finish them dor damage but having them as advantage throws might be a good idea.
I have limited internet access and it didn't notify me of a new comment until Sergio posted. About 44T~T and 64T for frame traps I will use J.O.C. I do 6 214T for a quick J.O.C. then if I'm playing a twitchy person I will do her 426T which is less obvious. I prefer big chunks of dmg instead of giving the opponent a chance to break. Thats not to say that I would never use 64T.
