Free Step Dodge

To me, establishing good defense and punishing are good when fighting new people. Usually, I have to get a feel of how they play first (ex. do they finish unsafe strings a lot, do they turtle, etc.) before I can set up my gameplan. I try not to get discouraged if I lose early on and take it as a learning experience that can allow me to adjust my playstyle accordingly.

I do that too. >_<, but a few matches will clear that up. xD
