Doesn't matter how good/bad your connection is. You're never really playing the way that you want to play online. You'll see what people mean once that you start playing offline somewhere if that's your motive one day.
If you have played regular extended sets offline, you'll immediately see why alot of people chastise online. It's basically impossible to play an online match like an offline match. Nothing ever works like it should and many elements of the gameplay *coughspunishmentcoughs* get majorly fucked up.
yeah I can definitely see your points on the lag ruining things. I've occasionally played with my brother offline and it's definitely a lot smoother. but still, I mean it's online it won't be perfect obviously. Any game is more fun offline when you're with people. but I honestly still have enjoyed DOA regardless of the lag. It's not on par with offline but it doesn't suck either.
That's the thing though, you can only play DOA online "Just for fun", because that's all it's good for. You can't legitimately practice anything because the input timings become wonky. Trust me, on a 5ms or less monitor, there's a major difference between online & offline play.
