Why not both? =P

I really just wanna focus on one character until I learn the meta thoroughly enough to feel good about switching to another. I'd also consider Tina, but it's really a tossup haha

Well, Kasumi is more beginner friendly- but is harder to master so I guess it depends what angle you want to play it. Marie is easier to master than Kasumi, but harder at beginner play. Imo anyway. Or take the Brute route and go for a harder to use harder to master character for your first character ;P

Kasumi's actually deceptively tricky to use properly. "Beginner" play is just buttons xD. Marie isn't really that hard at all. However, if you want to use the most godlike character in the game, use Ayane ;).

I say that because Kasumi's mix up game is like 1 billion times better than Marie's lol =P and let's be real, DOA in regards to strings and combos is by far the easiest out of any 3D fighter. DOA's difficulty is mind games, and Kasumi has an easier time with that than Marie due to her high/mid/low options on most her strings.

SC2's strings/combos were easier than DOA's.

Did SC2 even have combos in the traditional sense?

Yup. Short, but there.

Every FG has combos. But yes, SC strings & combos are generally easier on average.
