Am I wrong to lock stupid shit that's been said for a thousand times and causes nothing but problems?

Honestly, at this point I'm kind of hoping it drives a few elements off. I'm starting to think we need to impose an IQ test on people during the registration phase.

Remember something: This is a privately owned website. It was created for intelligent fighting game enthusiasts who want to play DOA competitively. I will tell you right now that a lot of the people who frequent here have no actual business on this website at all. I have no problem sending that message.

I know its not doac, there are no strat guides, no consistent high level player presence, no real community, no combo vids, no rivalry building, no well supported character forums, no real training session events. Sucks but its true.

Thats because people who have no business being here are flooding the forums with garbage. And the reason so many posts get locked is because that garbage is being cleaned up.

I understand what this website is all about trust me. Exactly what you said... HOWEVER. If a community is never allowed to develop there will never be people to play competitively with.

Everything you listed has to be put out there by the community. Your community is too busy shit posting to do any of the things you are asking for. It's not up to us to create the content. If you want a higher quality website, you have to accept that some elements need to be put in their place.

I'd just like to point out that there was more active strategy and mechanic discussion going on when there was 5 of us then there is going on right now. So what you are saying is not entirely true.

Furthermore, the majority of the people shit posting don't travel and will never travel. So why should I care if they get driven off? From my perspective, they are a negative element that drives off desirable parties who WOULD otherwise travel.

All im saying is that I myself have held back from creating legitimate topics here before because I was worried about "looking stupid" and having my thread locked with some rude condescending comment for whatever reason..

So if I feel that way as someone who's pretty experienced with the game and have been playing for years and understand the competitive scene imagine new players or those who havent been a part of the community for so long.
