because online players have wild imaginations but in the end you laugh about it.

Well, I'd certainly play offline with some people, but my friends suck and the only player in my area who's close enough to go play with is @BlankOctober, and I don't even know him so...I guess I'm stuck as an online warrior for now...

Just live it easy and don't worry, no one is going to judge how you'll play (and even so, in the end shouldn't care anything for you).

Remember that your purpose (I suppose) is just to support the competitive scene and first of all have fun playing one of your favourite games ;)

Attending tournaments can make one feel him/herself a bit uneasy. Remember in that case that you mainly attend for fun,it should help.

Don't worry and take it easy. :)

I was quite nervous too right before my first tourney. I was worried about many things. Who will I meet? How will it go? Will I be able to prove myself? etc. Being anxious to some extent right before a tournament (especially your first tournament) is a natural reaction.

My advice is that you shouldn't have high expectations, especially since this is your first tourney. Instead, focus on meeting new people and try to have a good time at the venue. Nobody's going to blame you if you lose. They should (and they most likely will) have respect for you since you have the guts to show up an offline tourney! ;)
