I look at recent replays and wonder how I got by.

Based on what I saw from the ones up here on FSD, I seem to play much better when I'm close to losing, I guess in desperation. I also attempt to throw punish way too often instead of continuing my combos. Everything else seems ok, even if I don't win my sets, they seem rather close which I guess is improvement.

Intersting. I myself panic a lot more at low health.

I do too, but I tend to back off a little when that happens and I play more technically, like I space and just whiff punish from that point

I have tons of replays on my channel and just looking at stuff from a month ago makes me face palm. Like back then I only used like 2 critical burst setups and would neglect a lot of Hayate/Ein's other tools lol. Though I suppose that's part of the learning process.

Yeah, we do get better over time, like I'm actually noticing some improvements here and there. It's still a w.ip., but it's good being able to give your I a pat on the back for some progress XD

Yeah, just keep playing and you'll see improvement! I remember my early DOA5 core fighters days, playing in lobbies with other beginners...good times. I was 5 months in when I really left the nest and fought more difficult players and I've gone from there

Yeah! I want to study this game more, but I don't know where to start... (online doesn't help)

You don't really have to study per say, just know what's safe an unsafe, and the gist of what your fighter's tools are. You'll go braindead if you try to cram everything in at once XD
