Toned down? No. Jokingly I would want it toned up, but it's fine as it is. For awhile I've been using her and so far, I've been getting clipped a lot out of her SS hop( not counting tracking moves either ), though with online, ANYTHING can happen.
I don't know, man. Sometimes the move crushes an obscene amount of things, but it's follow up can be punished with your strongest throw, or stun of choice. Once i punished it with an Izuna of off one of the cliffs in Lost World, pretty hype.
^That would be valid if she had to jump into the butt slam from the hop. The reality is that she can free cancel after the hop which dodges a ridiculous amount of strikes and throws and then wind up behind you in her BT stance, where among many things she has a NH low trip that crushes mids and a reset OH that leads into big damage. The movie is not weakened by the butt slam being -21 on guard.
That's why making it slower would be the proper fix, since it would make her be at minus, not be behind you and not crush everything instantly, you would have to use the move more sparingly, like Hayate's 8/2P+K.
I think it should be a normal command sidestep that, at best, hops over lows. this would be a more fair alternative seeing as how characters like bayman and christie are similar in that their command sidesteps evade highs.
The hop is annoying, but it's fine in my opinion. It's very easy to spot a Marie player abusing it. You have the option to bait out the hop and she'll be at disadvantage. Some characters have naturally tracking strings which catch her during the hop as well.
