My personal opinion (which isn't worth anything as far as I can tell) is that it's rude to exclude people.
You wouldn't like it too much if I beat you and said "I don't want to play you bc your a novice" so why do you do it to others? Just my two cents.
While I do understand what you mean by preferring a challenge, it would be good to play with novices. Getting beat by better players will help them grow, and eventually they have the potential to be a challenge.
It doesn't matter to me, but I understand what you mean. I prefer fighting players who are not predictable and who provide a challenge, but if a novice is presented before me, then that's fine. By preying upon their weaknesses and getting a reaction over and over, it teaches them and helps them grow.
While I agree that it's good to play with everyone, remember that just like in real life, if you are trying to get better at something, you don't really learn anything from steamrolling newbies (you actually get worse), and they don't get to get better either because they get murdered. You only truely get better by playing people at your level.
I do, however, play with newer players sometimes. I remember when I was brand new, I played against some really high level players. I got beat hard, but I learned something. They kept throw punishing me, so I went to training to figure out what moves I had were safe and which ones wasn't (I didn't even know that at the time). While I didn't like loosing, I did appreciate what I learned from getting beat
Play "everyone" regardless of skill level. As a growing player, you learn to develop and improve your adaptation against everyone you play against. You become that much closer to pinpoint what matters most to stop and/or take away from the opponent in a match.
But here's the funny thing, I don't mind playing with novice players.......in offline tournaments but when I see them online I would be like, " uhhhhh I dont feel like it".
