What do you mean by that question? Just asking because I'm a bit confused by you referring online warriors to being obsessed with respect.

I envy people, therefore I obsess.

I'm referring to the online warriors that seek respect from only have played the game online, and think they deserve respect without having actually contributed anything to the FG community.

I actually made a video about "respect" in the community. Haven't uploaded it yet, though, because it wasn't entertaining enough (too informative). Might upload it anyway, though. It's probably the "problem" that seems to occur most here, and it feels like someone needs to properly articulate it.

Respect has so many different meanings and viewed differently for most. You also do have players that solely play online that are generally kind and cool people.

Oh ok, well I understand since you given me a better explanation to your original question. The real reason is because they really want to be acknowledge and have some sort of self accomplishment since they think they it's the shortcut of recognition without doing no actual effort, dedication, or having no talent in other words: They do not want be a Loser.

Besides the negative ones which isn't really important to go full into detail because it's pretty obvious why, but there are quite a number of individuals out there that just play the game to just play it or playing with friends. I mean, not everyone has means to travel to events or they simply have no interest into going one..which is human decisions on how they feel so people can't exactly change that can we now.

Curious on the question post though. Is it just towards the negative players as a whole? or the masses of the entire players playing via the modem?

I think you should upload it @Brute , I'd watch it.

This is something I never understood, even back in the days when I was on GGPO playing KOF98. There is no "online respect". It's just a term that fighting game players will use in general to make themselves feel good about themselves when in reality, they are nothing more than scrubs. CONT.

I am not trying to be mean, but online to me is a secondary "practice" mode where you fight others in preparation for a local or a major event. In DOA5LR, it is clearly a hit and miss when it comes to matches online, which is the primary reason why no one should take it that seriously in the first place.

Coincidentally I read a wonderful quote about respect by a Dutch writer today:

''Respect means treating others like you want to be treated yourself.''

So if one thinks he/she deserves to be respected, he/she should, at the very least, act respectfully towards others as well.

Funny. Doing that is often the quickest way I'm accused of disrespecting people.

@GreatDarkHero - While I do agree with some of what you said, particularly the "why no one should take it that seriously in the first place." you also have players who contributed stuff in the forums that solely play online.

For example, Codemaster. He provided information on a character by playing the game directly to online and absorbing character information along with taking the time to post his information into the forums so there is some respect enabled here. Are you going to discredit Codemaster from such or even respect knowing full well he provided such information even though he only plays online?

The thing with the term "Online warrior" is that it's not a base definite answer to an initial problem. There are some positive online warriors who play the game and post in the forums with tech information, and then you also have the negative online warriors that are seeking glory for modem play while being an idiot.

Now my question is towards "what" exactly is FoN basing Online Warriors from because it's not a true question. If it's a player online who provides nothing but misery, invalid stuff, extreme bad behavior, demanding authority for such respect, too sticky to playing over the net overall, then I agree with the post.
DestructionBomb

If it's entirely towards the masses of all players who play online, then that is an issue because you do have tech information provided in the forums that were founded by online players themselves tested even against the AI training dummy that offline players use because it generally works due to the core game allowing you to do that or even kind players willing to do that.
