Well, the tech is in its infancy. If one was going to dive into it, they would want to dive into the high end experience where its actually enjoyable. The Gear is kind of a joke and PS VR just doesn't have the games or the hardware to properly support the experience.
You know.... when I first heard about VR.... I was thinking like Metal Cables in the back of the head like in The Matrix or Dream Surfing like in Inception.
I think whats underwhelming about the whole thing is its just putting a Screen really close to your eyeballs.
Its more like sitting really close to a small TV than "Virtual Reality".
The technology is expensive to develop, research and produce. If the VR companies lower their prices they will just lose money at this point. Companies can't just lower the price of expensive tech because the cheap masses can't afford it yet.
