Gameplay is amazing. Feels more horror than action.
I do not like the concept of the story however. Antagonist was a VERY stupid idea.

But if you want to know why and how it went back to its roots, look no further than a japanese movie called "sweet home"

But that was so long ago.... :(

Anyway I think its too soon to tell if the game is Replayable...... in my experience Horror Games are fun the first time and Progressively become boring with each Replay.

President Evil 4, 5 & 6 broke that trend.... and ofcourse were accused of "Abandoning their Roots".

I never doubted Capcom could make a good Horror experience or a Replayable Game but I always questioned whether its possible to do both since what makes a game scary can also make it Boring.

What roots? Being trapped in a house?

For me the first playthrough was really enjoyable. Haven't played through it a second time So IDK about replay ability but I'm looking forward to it.

Theres replayability, theres unlockables on completion and stuff like completion the game on Madhouse nets you infinite ammo for example

RE 4 5 6 werent RE games though they were action shooters. Might as well be different games entirely.

RE7 brings back the classic style gameplay. Literally the most Resident Evil RE game in over a decade

Again, I'm not really sure what you consider to be "real RE." Being trapped in a house? Having sparse item drops?

Survival horror, as in enemies far and few but powerful, having to pick and choose items/weapons, minimal ammo, puzzles etc.

Basically RE1/REmake, RE7 goes back to that style of gameplay

RE4 onwards enemies weren't anything but ammo fodder and barely a threat unless you played on professional
