I just hope we don't have to wait again 7 years for a new DOA, like from DOA4 to DOA5. :/ We are now waiting already 5 years...

The game better look leagues better than DOA5 is all I have to say, they're on ps4 now so these ps3 models with minor shader improvements isn't gonna work for me

DOA5 never even looked as good as DOA4 or DOA3, aside from the faces. Everything but the faces has always looked really bad. I hope DOA6 goes back to a stylized vibrant style with good textures again. I'm sick of fucking brown environments.

All I want is a rainy stage tbh. The PS3 models are good, but we're gonna need a graphical overhaul bc DOA5 looked extremely good for its gen. DOA6 could legit look like Nioh graphically and I'd be happy

not...really. DOA4 from almost a decade earlier looked better than DOA5, overall. A lot of it came down to style change though. 5 ditched the sleek and smooth aesthetic for red, black and brown grunge, so it just looks bad by DEFAULT, thenw e get into the actual muddy textures and empty stages on top of that.

Don't worry, pretty new graphics are in TN's own interest. The prettier the ladies, the more DOA 6 will sell and the faster people will feel an incentive to jump ship from DOA5LR, where they already spent a fortune on bikini DLC.

Hopefully it'll look better than even Nioh, it's a nice game but I feel like it could look even better tbh, DOA6 should add some style and vibrancy to it so everything looks iconic and not just realistic

Do you know if it's possible for them to use the models from DOA5 and improve them (hair, texture, polygons), or do they have to start from scratch ? All I want is our 26 original DOA characters at least. No cut.

I miss when all the girls had nice, thick, long(if it was long) hair that wasn't transparent or thin and they had fringes that were thick and came to eye level and I also miss when the males had unique body types and actual muscle XD

It should look better than Nioh, because they will improve and build upon that graphics engine and a game like Nioh is much more demanding than a fightig game. It has much bigger environments, more enemies, more effects and game mechanics to worry about.

I'd expect it to look similar to Dissidia NT. But maybe a little less anime than NT and more.... you know... DOA.

@KwonJigglypuff, usually character models are build from scratch for a new engine/game.
Even the DOAX3 models are actually new ones. The bodies have different proportions, more polygons and improved physics. Many of the girl's faces were changed too.

And why do some characters like Momiji(with her default hair) and Mai have them while everyone else it bald? XD Mai I can understand since she has one style but I guess it's because the way TN renders loose hair they opted to omit it

That's because DOA5's lighting engine is basically faked, like most PS3 gen games. It's pre-baked, undynamic and isn't capable of realtime shadowing. Even the selfshadowing is just a trick. (Looks fairly good though.) With the full jump to this generation the complete lighting engine should be overhauled.

also like i said before, colors matter. They need to ditch the "real is brown" aesthetic, and go back to the vibrant colors that POP. Anyone else remember when kasumi was a redhead?

Hopefully it will, TTT2 and SF4 have it but then again they don't use(thank god...) a transparent effect on the hair and they animate tresses in strands instead of as one transparent layer that stretches and stuff. They should also overhaul the feet for sure XD
