And only a fraction of those who kept it actually still play it.... the rest of them are just sitting in the player's Hard Drives... collecting Virtual Dust.

And only a fraction of those who actually who still actively played the game actually paid to unlock some of the characters for permanant use.

Nope.... but I do believe they can track how many people are actively playing Their games at any given week.

If 7/10 of the 10,000,000 players uninstalled the game, 3,000,000 left ain't too shabby. As for Ranked matches, just don't. Play lobbies instead if anything.

I am willing to make a huge bet that DOA on the west doesn't have million players. Perhaps there might be thousands of others who play story/arcade mode, making ryona vids netting free revenue and extending DOA stigma, or others but I suppose they can count (I guess? they bought the game so yeah). It's definitely hard to get a rough estimate, nowhere near a million though.

Majority of the players that play fighting games are casual regardless of territory. For instance majority of the people that play SFV or Tekken 7 just mash buttons or spam mindlessly. But yeah, I doubt DOA in the West has as many as 1,000,000 players. DOA's always been primarily an Eastern game deep down.

1% of 10,000,000 is still 100,000. Quite a lot.

100 000 is plenty and TN should be proud.

But hows the Publisher going to fill about these Stats ? :O

To be fair, its still done better than ubisofts multiplayer games that lose 90% of its players in mere months regularly. They're still in the works of trying to fix for honor and get people back into it now. Just like doa some of it seems to be netcode issues as well. Whatever personal gripes people have over a games content, thats what really comes down to turning everyone off to online ''metal gear online 3''

@Camel with 2 thumbs I actually set connection region and rank to just all and waited like 15 minutes and got nothing. Maybe im just in a bad area. I mean.. it is delaware :)

I mean, are you comparing KOEI's sub company TN to Ubisoft? I think Ubisoft games are pretty shit too (not all and some no interest in playing), but that company is a AAA money hotspot and they have massive multiple teams. I also agree with you that it's better than Ubisoft multiplayer games but the masses over there don't. We are kinda the minority here.

Hey if indie games can get millions of downloads for being good enough right? Even the best games can get shoved into irrelevancy though. Like ookami and bayonetta. Ookami won an award but still sold poorly. Game industry and consumers are so fickle, doesnt help when people have no clue how to market.

@Princeofhalcyon Ah wait wait Prince ahaha, Okami sold pretty well actually. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%8Ckami

Should be at the bottom, but the reason for it's lower sales in the newest gens is because Inaba and Hideki Kamiya left Capcom to form PlatinumGames and all sources and port sources were a mess.

Bayonetta is still shooting and kicking (no pun intended). Hideki wants to make another one but it sounds like he wants to wait for the next gen after PS4 to work on it.

Not amazing numbers, but average i suppose. But like the team said for bayonetta 1, i would've expected more sales of it. I'd compare it to devil may cry but that was already big for a while so its only natural people would snatch em up while bayonetta was new. But if bayonetta 1 had sold better and they made more money from it, bayonetta 2 wouldnt have to be a wii-u exclusive i dont think..

That's still good numbers. Action games are lucky enough to get that moderate. The profit returns is higher.

All things considered DOA5LR has done fantastic and is generally considered a success. 10,000,000 downloads is still a lot of attention but has contributed to the years of DLC sales. To put in perspective, DOA5 had a rough start sales wise.
