If we put it that way, he has a better chance than Yaiba likely. You should check out Hanzo from NiOh @ZakkuRye , he's a powerful ninja and even knows a bit of the Hayabusa clan in NiOh. There's also a character there named Jin Hayabusa (Ryu's ancestor). Unknown if Jin Hayabusa is a cameo or actually part of the game, but he does have the Dragon Sword.

Jin is Ryu's ancestor in Nioh if I remember correctly.

I mean, it dates back way in the past, so it would make sense yeah. It's still unknown if it's connected to that world completely or him being a cameo. Though if you put it in, he would technically be his ancestor true.
