Such a well-designed hack-n-slash ain't it? Very few games of the genre are better designed than it. Game is over 12+ years old and the gameplay still holds up beautifully as if it were released this generation.

While i have my gripes with NGB (most problems are just due to the game's age), it is an excellent game overall.

What are your gripes with NGB? Game is masterfully designed.

The final chapter made me hate the ghost fish l0l

Yeah the ghost fish were a really stupid inclusion. Great for essence farming though lol.

They....they literally took away my Talisman of Rebirth (as soon as I left Muramasa's for the palace) when I was saving it for the final boss l0l

Ok, my complaint is not about the ghost fish (good for recovering resources and easy to deal with), my complaint an be resumed in one thing: "Big, dumb, heavy and with a lot of HP enemies", they don't add to the combat, they aren't fun to fight and they always take too much because of their HP. enemies in general where they don't get stunned are always a problem.

Games like Nioh are littered with those types of enemies (I'm guessing you hated fighting the zombies then haha). These enemies are added because quite frankly "squishies" (or lightweight enemies) become too easy to defeat after awhile due to exploitable stun-chaining. For heavyweight enemies, take around 2 or 3 swings then back-off. Pretty much all boss characters, besides maybe 1 or 2 are heavyweights.

Not Really, in Nioh, the enemies have interesting attack patterns, and the game's mechanics support this kind of enemies very well, in NGB, the big dumb dinosaurs are there just to stall for time, while the imps, or the cat-girls, are always fun, challenging, and not really exploitable.

Don't even get started on the Berserkers. everytime i have to face one of them is just... URRGH.

Not really, the main difference for Nioh is the stamina & ki system. Other then that, there's a lot of 'hit the enemy a few times then back off'. For heavyweights like the Berserkers, just use the Dabilahro (or War Hammer) to decimate them. The heavyweight enemies add variety, because otherwise I just Izuna Drop everyone.

Oh the Berserkers? You mean the 'Nightmare-like' enemies? I was thinking the larger dinosaurs in my head haha. For the Berserkers, dodge immediately after blocking anything then counterstrike with the Dragon Tear (XXXY). The Berserkers are one of the funner/challenging enemies to fight. The Zombies are tedious though I admit despite the easy essence.

Berserkers, the enemies that start appearing on Very Hard i Believe, made of bones, and having giant dumb swords and fire attacks.

The difference with damage sponges in niOh, is first, you can dodge cancel anything in Nioh, unlike NGB, and youcan stack heavy damage and status ailments through different means.
