Last time I checked improvement wasn't defined by being in top 3. Just because your family isn't supportive of you playing video games doesn't mean you have to discourage others in return.
I don't know where the family part came in at (I thought you were a writer, but you're committing fallacies oddly), but this was directed towards someone I played online who posts regularly on FSD who had shit to say after he got whooped. If it wasn't you (which I'm pretty sure it wasn't lol..), don't take offense.
Even though this isn't directed at me, I'm taking offense to it anyway. You have no idea how many times I had to hear that from people years ago: "Stop supporting the scene poorly by losing" "Don't bother to go again after losing like that on stream". It adds up and really messes with your head.
so what? at least they're trying!! if they can't get top 3 who cares at the end of the day it's just a game and people will keep trying to get to top 3 even if it takes them forever. as someone with learning difficulties it took me ages to pass like certain areas of subjects but with help and that i got there in the end i was even told by others in my school i should just give up but no i did not!!
I agree with Radiance. There are A LOT of ego minded players in DOA that have gone to some or a ton of tournaments and they aren't improving at all. What are you actually learning when you go to an event? It's a real issue a lot of DOA players have.
The most common mistakes players in DOA make is attending a tournament and "expecting" how they play online against bad players will work for them and it doesn't. Either excuses come out or they came to support but didn't learn anything.
