Not really. Most shooters, 1st or 3rd person, feel the same. If you like "action-y" shooters, just play Vanquish. Though the game is criminally short. Uncharted 4/Lost Legacy is ok as a shooter/platformer hybrid. At this point Halo is just another FPS unfortunately.

If you want something different and interesting, play Overwatch. Game makes you think strategically as opposed to just run-and-gun, "BOOM! Headshot!"

@Force_of_Nature I was gonna disagree with you about Halo just being another FPS, but after thinking about it...you're pretty much right. It's not until higher rank placements (Diamond, Onyx, etc.) where it'll start feeling like Halo again.

Also, could just play CS.

Yeah CS:GO is if you want a proper "skill-based" FPS. At least something like Overwatch plays out like a MOBA to spice things up in the genre.

To be fair single player fps aren’t really skill based, more like run and gun.

I'm not a huge fan of Online Multiplayer Shooters.... except for Gears.... Gears is awesome.

Anyway I was looking for shooters that seem to have a rating system that checks how well you'ee playing... all three of the shooters in my status do that... I was surprised by DOOM doing it too.

So you basically want an arcade game that also happens to be a shooter?

Well... technically Resident Evil 5 & 6 rate you after each level like an arcade game. In short, there aren't really many shooters like that.

Already have those.... and the rating system in that game is so simplistic it feels like an after thought. It was still fun though.

DOOM, Vanquish & Bulletstorm were built from the ground up to have that system.... The Devil May Cry of Shooters.

Does it have to be a shooter? Bayonetta still has one of the better "rating" systems of an arcade style game. Metal Gear Rising might also have one, but can't remember. (Yeah, PlatinumGames are the King of arcade style gameplay in 3D games).

Yeah Metal Gear Rising has one, I had to keep from mentioning it cause I knew it wasn't a shooter lmao.

I already have Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising...

I don't like MGR... as you get further into the game... the parry becomes less and less powerful yet at the same it also become more and more Necessary.

Monsoon is a Perfect example of what I mean.

I wouldn't mind more games like Vanquish, the missions get downright crazy in terms of the skill involved to complete them, which is refreshing in the action shooter genre. But yeah, support Platinum folks! (Sadly that means getting a Switch to play Bayonetta 3 LMAO).

That reminds me... whats the Backwards Compatability on Nintendo Switch ?

Im not sure if you're being sarcastic but in case you're not: It's not backwards compatible, however alot of wiiU Games are getting re released on switch. Bayonetta2, Mario kart 8, dkc tropical freeze, etc.

LoL... Well I know didly squat about Pre-Wii Nintendo.

No, the Switch isn't backwards compatible and can't play WiiU games. (Which wouldn't make sense considering the different formats).

Backwards compatibility is a gimmick that was started with the PS2, though was expected to be standard by the gamers. Considering how much it shot up the cost of the PS3, Sony opted to remove it.

I mean, the Sega Genesis had backwards compatibility via the Power Base Converter, but yeah the PS2 was probably the first OFFICIAL console with backwards compatibility within the hardware. While it is a gimmick, it's always a welcomed selling point, as the convenience is extremely great (for me anyways).

Backwards compatibility is a great thing. I love the fact that the wiiU can play Wii games...but obviously since the switch is portable is wouldn't make sense to be compatible w wiiU games.
