Directional Input Error?

Is it just me or is some the directional inputs screwy for Akira on the 2p side? I can pull off instant :2_::4::6::P: just fine on the 1p side but whenever I get to the 2p side I almost always get a :4::6::P: (rare), :6::P: (uncommon), or a :2_::6::P:(common). It's also affecting my :4::3::P: and :1::6::F+P: as well. I'm going nuts because I know I'm pressing the correct inputs but the moves refuse to come out. Am I doing something wrong?

So I think I figured out the problem. The inputs are extremely lax on the 1p side and super strict on the 2p side. It's times like these I wish I was a stick player. It's pretty annoying when that fact alone leads to dropping extremely crucial combos if you just happen to be on the 2p side.

I'm going to be brutally honest, but the problem is either you or the controller.

However the overall buffering system is very loose, it remembers inputs for a very long time.

Honesty is very much appreciated. I'd be completely fine if it was something that simple but I don't know if that's the case. But it probably is. I don't know.

But why does it only affect the 2p side? That's whats getting me. I'm leaning towards it just being my personal problem but I'm not entirely sure. As of right now if I'm on the 2p side, my entire objective is to get on the 1p side lol

It's like trying to write with your left hand at first. Takes practice.
