Any of the DoAs that had strikes->throws->holds->strikes has a roshambo element. The difference is how much that element plays into the core gameplay.

proper spacing, evasion, frame advantage pressure and guaranteed environmental setups eliminate a lot of that roshambo nonsense since it forces you to think about more than mixing it up.
It's just DOA 4 had none of those, so... what was left? roshambo.
I'd just rather not see things dumbed down to that level again, that's all. Give me more to think about and I'll be happy.
