New to this game

I chose this over TT2 because the fighting looks fun, I wanna main Hayate, sooo...any tips for a beginner?

Don't abuse holds, you will be in trouble and will take more damage.
Learn how\when power blow (easy) and ways to do critical burst, and you should be good.
