Taunting Etiquette

Did this tread change my idea (In anyway) towards taunting ?

I never taunt with Helena because her only taunt (from DOA2 to DOA5) was a bit boring. It was nice to do it against Jann Lee's 236K however).

Her new taunt are a bit lazy too, but it's still appreciated.

I'd like a ballet bow for the next DOA. Something like that.

Or a "mousquetaire reverence".

I love to taunt. Don't judge me. How could I not when the characters I use have some of the best ones?

Eliot: "Quit fooling around." & "Please fight."
Ayane: "Is that the best you can do?" & "Loser." & my favorite, "You idiot!"
Tina: "Come on." ;)

But I only taunt if my opponent taunts OR if I'm victorious in a match I had to work for a victory in.

I dont consider an excited and happy "Lets go!" or blowing kisses a negative taunt

commmme onnnnn - thats the "im making fun of you taunt" lol

@KwonJigglypuff uff - Helena is too classy to taunt duhhh, though how she dresses nowadays has me questioning my old assumptions hmmmmm lol :p

I don't know where this "classy Helena" thing comes from. In her debut in DOA2, she was a total bitch. She tries to mindfuck Ein by toying with his memory, she mocks Gen Fu who is just trying to save his granddaughter, she accuses Ayane of killing her mom for no fucking reason, etc.

It wasn't until DOA4/5 that Helena got all boring with the "I have to act all dutiful" routine or whatever.

Well its in how she bows and what she says and acts nowadays and thats she a ceo now. I think many also chalk up her bitchiness to the trauma she has experienced being a bastard and mom getting killed, kinda how people give ayanes snootiness a pass.

Plus I think alot of people also expect a rich girl to act snooty so yeh thats my theory

I liked her as a bitch. She had more charisma.

Just saying I don't get why people neglect that and think she's always so elegant.

Unless I KNOW the person, I never do it purposely unless:

1. By accident (Damn SS)

2. The other player does it first on purpose.

Truth be told Kasumi's I think is fair game cuz it's quick and can throw people off. (Bboy Dragon is NOTORIOUS for this). But if I'm playing someone in less than favorable conditions it's equal to giving somebody the finger imo.

Getting a great round/set should speak for itself.

Also I'm probably one of the few people that will message somebody good things about their play afterwards.

I'm the type of person that also sends a simple message saying "great match" or something like that after playing a few rounds with the same person. That said though, I'll taunt every so often, I don't do it as a middle-finger type gesture or anything like that, I just really like Hitomi's taunt animations =P

Ayane didnt exactly deny it Helena was just like

:helena: "shes a ninja, ninjas kill a metric shit ton of people each day, there is reasonable probability she might have killed my mother. Hey yo bitch! did you kill my mother?"

:ayane:"huh yeah sure"
On the flip side, I liked playing that stage of Ayane's story just to hear Helena's godly and vastly superior DOA2 theme. That stage. That music. It was perfect.

Only taunt my friends since they know I don't actually meant it ^.^

Other than that I don't taunt unless I do it by mistake

I wish they shortened the frames of Bayman's salute,Kasumi gets a quick parry taunt and I can't even use mine to express my attitude at the beginning of the match.

I rarely taunt unless my opponent taunted me because they thought they were winning and now they're not. :p I really hate when I taunt by accident though, so I took off the taunt button and H+P+K on my setup (I never play tag anyway).

But, if I'm playing with friends (who taunt a lot) and about to make a big comeback I might use Kokoro's "It's not over yet". lol I might also use Ein's "Osu!" when I get a great. The main reason I like this taunt is because it reminds me of Jin's Mental Alertness stance on Tekken. XD

"Rawr!" :)

Ye, one of the reasons I like her too. I think everyone should have at least one "nice person" taunt.

Is it considered taunting whenever Leon automatically does his fist to the palm taunt before fighting Bayman whenever their special intro happens?
