Actually is typical from Team Ninja to make announcements for their game at the end of a tournament (they made the same for announcing the return on the arcade of DoA, and in a later occurrence for showing the few seconds teaser of Momiji seen only from behind): the mother's day is just a mere coincidence XD

If so it could be Miyako or one of Fame's other Mistresses. Maybe it's a brand new character. Or be cool to have a (possible) 30+ female

If it's not Irene, Aoi Umenokouji, Kage-Maru, Ryo Hazuki (or a Ryo Hazuki skin for Akira), Tengu, or the rumored throwback character Michiko from Angel Eyes, then it's most likely a really, really good patch update with Phase 4 added to the roster.
But since they're making an announcement on a day like this, it would be too good to be true if suddenly they announced Miyako. Come on now, we recently got a token loli, and they're announcing something on Mother's Day at 5PM EST?

Brute doesn't ship anyone i doubt he would care. that would really anger the Kasumi/Ryu shippers which would bring me great joy
we usually get new character announcements after they release characters in the west ill keep my hopes relativley elevated
For me it wouldn't be "JUST" release date. I wanna play this girl so bad!
