Tengu Being Added? Female?

I love to see that she got a Tengu fan and apparently own a pair of wings: if has to be the substitute of Bankotsubo I hope that TN will make a good work with her moveset, creating a new character but with enough moves from the past to be considered a worthy successor of the DoA2 boss - and the wings definitely would open the path for his cool throws. I'm never been so eager to know the moveset of a character as much as its appearence (my roots are always the ones of a casual DoA fan XD).

By the way people don't suppose immediately that just because a girl with a thin body she should end to lose necessarily a big part of Tengu's moveset (I made the same mistake previously, I know): after all Rachel is the living demonstration of a strong and heavy girl character.

Still can't believe TN is so stubborn about giving Ayane a clone lol. Ayane will never get a clone. I don't want clones just this surprises me I expect only clone from them.

The recent pictures seems to move more in the direction of a new character not clone of Ayane (but again nothing is certain).

Yes sorry I mean not giving a clone it was mistake my English is bad :) Kronin all your predictions were saying it was a Ayane clone so you changed my mind lol. I expected Ayane clone really but she isn't :)

another big disappointment, this confirms male Tengu is not returning, and plus this character looks ugly. I'm guessing there will no longer be any new male fighters only females. Looks like I'll be saving my money, not impressed with any of the 3 new characters. If they want to add new females why don't they put in new cultures for diversity like from Brazil, Mexico, India, or Polynesian Hawaiian. It's very annoying, they don't care about diversity or male fighters and they are not creative like other producers.Wish Itagaki was back

Changing Tengu into a girl is really disappointing female Tengu isn't worst thing on earth I liked her more than Marie but why change a known "famous" character as if they are hopeless about creating an appealing male creature lol. They can't trust male designs they can't trust themselves this is so weird. Their target audince 9 years old girls who play dress up games ? I think so...

Maybe we will get real Tengu too who knows I shouldn't talk surely.

Yes, when I speculate my opinions are always based on the last info received: so not a surprise than you can read from me different opinions, I don't regret what I said or that I was wrong, I simply shape a natural different thought with the time (like I said we can discuss even if not necessarily reaching the truth).

In the end my speculation about this character being a clone of Ayane were based - in addition to her obvious Tengu theme - on the disposition of the character in the roster in relationship with Phase-4, Kasumi and Ayane. Of course this detail is kept, but with the new pictures the look of the character seems to me too much distant from Ayane for giving the impression to the players that she is an alternative version of the purple kunoichi. I hope to be right.

By the way @gnooz I don't understand when you are trolling and when not XD What is your opinion on the old Tengu and this eventual new one? You wanted the old one back? I'm not asking it because there is a right answer (of course :p) I'm just honestly curious :)

Hımmmm... :) I don't really care Tengu I don't want him return because he would look dumb in the game. I didn't play with him he isn't interesting for me because I don't like to fight with heavy costume and a geta. I have a problem I can't solve, this game is canon or non canon game just like TT2? It looks like a mess for me I said many times :) If it is non canon I would want to see old Tengu back but honestly I don't like fan service. But I care these Tengu lovers I can't stand TN's vision and the situation they created.

it's acanon game, but if your points were valid, why would they bring back Ein? Hayate has nothing to do with that alter-ego since he got his memories back. (for some reason he'd rather be a really lame lower ninja than be an awesome and rough karate master)

One thing I know about her I won't like her traditional costume so much. I hope we will have a second gorgeous but simple costume option with normal shoes :)

Thanks for the answer, finally I know the truth! XD Even if I've a different opinion about Tengu of course I respect your one ;)

DoA5 (and 5U) are canon but very simply not all its characters appear in the plot. By the way I know that such characters ended anyway to get a simple background (as Momiji and Rachel entering in the tournament for example), so I can't say you if this will be kept or less in DoA6. But in any cases, with their inexisting involvement in the plot, wouldn't make difference.

Personally I would have loved the return of Tengu Bankotsubo in a not canon shape (I would prefer a scenario where his role in the story is ended with DoA2 and his death) and I think that also other Tengu fans wouldn't have cared for the missing of his involvement in this and the sequels of the series.

"Because he would look dumb in this game" is an absolutely non valid argument. I could say that to the like +2 Kasumis the game as well + one of the Kasumis is made out of ????? Jelly? Energy (what is "energy" anyway)? Space magic? There isn't even an attempt in the game to explain Alpha-152s look and why she is transparent and greenish. So why would a Tengu entity, in form of the classic DOA Tengu design, not "fit" into DOA5 general new design line?

Even the classic DOA Tengu could be redsigned in details to make him look fearsome, mighty, powerful and "cool" in a more humanoid (male) way.

Just because of his more monster-like look, doesn't mean he couldn't fit into the game. Here is an example of how a Tengu would look, in a non-monster/creature like way. And he looks awesome.

Alpha 152 looks dumb too :) Actually Phase 4 looks dumb because they were able to make some story about Alpha 152 and we fought against her in story mode :) We didn't fight with real Phase 4......mess........

Almost everyone was in panic mode "OMG NOT ANOTHER CLONE" "ITS OBVIOUSLY AYANE!" "CANT TEAM NINJA CREATE ANYTHING ORIGINAL!?"

3 days later, guess what, it's not a clone, it's not ayane, and it's pretty original to be a female tengu.

I might actually use her.

@Female Tengu Well, actually I think that the argument "Tengu is dumb" derive more from the personality of the character than from his design. TN could make a great cool looking design (I'm sure that they would know what to do for it) but you couldn't say to use Bankotsubo without giving him his classic clumsiness or villain arrogance, so not giving an "image" too much far from his old one.

EDIT: And yes, the Tengu can be definitely Silent Hill horric:
