Im starting to think the new female is Ms.Monday or Rio. Just think about it Team Ninja claims its there favorite character. Irene fans have a hard time admitting shes only being used for story line purposes. If Irene was there favorite she would have been playable in Ultimate imo.

Wait when did they say she was their favorite character? And I don't like Irene but Miss Monday or Rio is TN's favorite girl?!? DX

The fact is that Momiji and Rachel are much more popular because playable heroines in NG and definitely needed to get a place in the roster before of the NPC Irene. At the same time consider how Rachel wasn't included in Razor's Edge while TN found even the time to create a new model for Irene for a little cutscene (in addition to the same treatment given to her to DoAD).

I don't think that this is a confirmation that is Irene the new character (even because she could be very simple a new brand one that the team ended to become very fond of during her development), but in any cases I believe that Irene is definitely not indifferent to TN: she got the best treatment possible for a minor character not playable.

So then would this be a reasonable top 5 girls most likely added? I included Asuka b/c she has brown hair not black (unless I'm misunderstanding and Japanese meaning of black includes brunettes as well? :confused:)

Consider that Leifang2000 just given us the info that the collaboration between DoA and Senran Kagura will see - from the DoA side - torn clothes (maybe only to crossover outfits). This doesn't cut the idea for a guest chara from SK, but the collaboration could also end here.

Personally I believe that Aoi and Eileen have more chances than Miss Monday, but the words of Hayashi don't give particular chances to a VF chara that I believe would have been introduced in a different way and not remarking the effect of new engine on her chest.

IMO a new brand character is now the most likely scenario.

PS: But of course remember that our one is only speculation based on the interviews and overall on the response of the fans on FB and Twitter that I saw. Personally I have no idea of what are the wishes of the Eastern fans.

However it's never said that she is their favourite female, only that is truly popular among the development team (that could mean only the people working on the new characters and not necessarily the entire Team NINJA).

What I don't understand is the meaning of "not returning character" for Hayashi, because with the only exception of Kasumi Alpha there is no female character that can return in the series, and so the distinction from the male character doesn't seem to have much sense. Even Rio is playable in DoAX and not in DOA (Hayashi mark always a distinction between the two series when he talk).

A popular character within the team ? Well provided it's not a guest but a female from Tecmo, we only have two options :

Rio : They dediced to give the pink-haired babe her own anime, to include her in DOAP and she has a long history with the team (the large one, Tecmo). Prior to her guest appearance in DOAP, she had never been released outside of Japan. I have no idea if she's SO popular in Japan... would easily work as a tag partner for Zack, based on their affection for casinos, she has a huge selection of fetish costumes designed by the team, and there is a spot under Zack/Phase 4. Plus pink hair.

The team probably thought she was not "strong" enough to be a fighter, she was always seen as the "damsel in distress", but despite this they insisted on giving her some apparitions and a makeover in DOAD... I don't think Niki is even popular within the team. I don't know about Ms. Monday, she would be very appreciated in DOA, but I'm not sure there is an expection from the audience for a Yaiba character.

I'm fairly certain they mean the design is popular within the team, they'd already have her done... concept wise. I don't think it's either of them personally. I'm pretty sure it's either senran kagura girl or a completely new character.

That was due to response from DOAD which played out entirely in chronological order, but seemed jarring because you'd appear to jump from one character to the next for no reason given. Most of those moments due to you playing the "Tournament" side of the story.

So in DOA5 in response, they made it so you played through a character's chronological story points but you wouldn't jump around between characters.

Cow your words have weight to them you need to start adding "i believe" or "i think" to these predictions of yours so the dissapointment falls squarley on TNs shoulders and not you for over hyping stuff.

I'd be careful though b/c EC does have the inside scoop and has given us hints that were true in the past. I'd rather have a possibly true hint than none at all. :p
