Since it's not the finished game, it's technically neither. The tournament is considered a special event, but I will be treating it as a main tournament so it will have a stream for at least the finals, and entry will be $10 per entrant.

You can prepay the venue fee online. The game tournament fees will be paid at the venue.

I have some news for everyone, in addition to the monetary prize to winning the singles and tag team tournaments, the three people will be given a copy of the Dead or Alive 5 Collector's Edition for the system of their choosing when the game is released.

Note: If the winner of the Singles tournament is in the winning team of the Tag Team tournament, then the Singles winner will only receive one copy.

Huh, turns out it's only an hour and a half away...this could be fun. Money isn't an issue, but I'm not sure if I'd care to spend around 80 dollars just to go. I'll be thinking about this, I guess.

Spend 80 dollars and you can have a chance at winning the $80 DOA5 Collector's Edition (plus having fun playing the game and meeting others who enjoy the game).

DOA5 will be playable throughout the weekend. I don't expect to finish the Singles tournament on Saturday so that will be carried over to Sunday. If by some miracle we're able to get through the entire singles tourney on Saturday, then Sunday will be all free play.

So if you want Sunday to be all free play I suggest you hang around the DOA area and pay attention so we can get through the brackets faster ;)

Maybe. 10 hours worth of driving+ all of the other expenses to play DOA would mean that I have a lot of faith that 5 won't be like 4... and from what I've seen I can't even begin to figure out what they've done with it besides add quick time events.

90% of the reason I go is I just like Philly. I think it was an 8 hour drive from Norfolk, VA. I mean the tournament shit is alright and if you do well, awesome, but goin to Pat's, King of Subs afterwards and just hanging out in Philly is fun as fuck.
