For this game, we have 4 supers or 'Musou'.
1.Just press circle whenever a gauge is filled.
2.An aerial musou whereby you must jump in the air then press circle.
3.Another Musou by pressing R1 and Circle at the same time.

What you did was a Rage musou. While attacking and receiving damage, your rage meter (the meter next to your portrait) fills up. Once it's full, press R3 to go into the Rage state. In this state, your musou gauges combine to form one long musou like in the old games. Press and hold the circle button until the animation is done.
nah, this one is different from that. no Rage state. It just happens like, in the middle of being attacked, or at the end of a circlecircletriangle attack, I can't tell yet.

It's one of Linqi's EX attacks. Just press Triangle a second time after her Sq-Sq-Tri or Sq-Sq-Sq-Sq-Sq-Tri strings.

i've been trying that. Doesn't always happen.

Also, everyone seems to have this same attack. tried Xingcai and Zhurong, and they both have the same thing. But again, can't figure out why its only sometimes coming out.

.....gonna explain lol?
Woops, I was busy haha. If your weapon's affinity is better than your enemy's you'll be able to see a blue shield on top of them. With each consecutive attack, you'll be chipping away at the shield until you perform your Storm Rush. XL added the option for this to be manual though, so you can go change it in the settings.

God I hate Lu Bu. Literally his ONLY redeeming quality is how protective he is of his daughter. The entire campaign I'm just yelling at the TV "Listen to your strategist you idiot just rushing in and killing everything in sight will only take you so far!"

Doesn't help that his moveset sucks ass lol.

To be fair, his hypothetical route is the most badass thing since the concept of Warriors Orochi.

I mean, Lu Bu actually undergoes character development, listens to his tactician, makes full use of his allies, and spends the last mission plowing through every playable character from that era to take the emperor's throne because the country needs a stronger ruler than it has.

The only hypothetical ending I liked more was the Wei ending.

Anyhoo, picked up WO3U, and I'm really digging the new guest characters. I'm running a team of Momiji, Sophitia, and Birkenstock... I mean Sterkenberg.

How do I get the hypotheticals?

Also now that I don't have my ps3 anymore, I need to get this on vita. Yay for uploading saves to psn.

After completing the True/Historical route, certain missions prior to a critical battle/moment will have added conditions to allow for the path of history to change, indicated with a star on the Mission Select screen.

For example, in the Wu route, you must:
  • Defeat Lu Gong before he escapes in Mission 1. This saves Sun Jian from death, also allowing him to help in Mission 2.
  • Defeat Xiahou Dun and Gan Ji in Mission 3. This unlocks M3-X.
  • Destroy Gan Ji's magic urn in Mission 3-X. This keeps Sun Ce alive.
  • Complete the decoy strategy in Mission 5. This saves Zhou Yu.
  • Get Lu Su to the castle in Mission 6. This saves Lu Su.
  • Choose the hypothetical version of Mission 7: The Battle of Hefei by speaking with Zhou Yu.
By doing so, the Red Team rules the world.

Be warned, some of the missions are annoying as f**k. Make sure you get Red Hare or some similar steed for the time-based missions.

More than a little irritated right now.

Made sure to upload my save to psn before I packed up the ps3.

I pick up the Vita version and try to download my save.

Says save doesn't exist.

I look it up, only to find out that you can't actually transfer the dw8xl save through psn cloud, you have to do it from the in game data transfer.

Which I can't do now because ps3 is in storage and even if it wasn't I don't have a place to plug it in anymore.

So I basically have to start all over. Granted all id really done so far was Lu Bu's campaign and gotten Lu Lingqi to lv 56, but id gotten a stockpile of cool weapons and a perfect cross pike for her, cause constant lightning strikes, increased attack speed, increased attack power, and caused musou to regent faster. Doubt I'll find that combo again for her.

So what I'm left with, is start all over again on vita, and whenever I do get to play ps3 version again, just overwrite the ps3 save with my save transferred from Vita.

Again, mighty frustrating. Currently replaying Lu Bu's campaign to at least get back to where I was.

Just a warning with the Vita version: some characters have musou attacks that cause immense slowdown. The greatest offender is Jia Chong.

I figured. Goes with the territory.

Also here's a question. Is there any point to the one star golden weapons?

Like I'm gonna use Zhao Yun in story mode, but I can't choose between

3 dot blue weapon Dragon Spike which has
28 Attack
Enlightenment 5
Rigidity
Awe 5
Resolve

Or a 1 star golden weapon, Dragon jaw, which has
18 attack
Jubilation 7
Frenzy 8
Desperation

I don't know how Frenzy calculates, so is that 8 enough to put it on par with the 28 attack blue weapon?

The best way to find out is to just try it out.
Near as I can tell, the Dragon Jaw is a Glass Cannon weapon. Hits net you big damage at critical HP with lower defense to get you there faster, but you regen a lot of it when you kill things, limiting its continued effectiveness. The Dragon Spike regens your Rage gauge while making your defense nigh-impenetrable. I would personally use the Spike for the faster Rage building, but I think you'll get more damage from the Jaw.

A casual stroll.

"Honey, I'm going out for a walk!"

*steps into the Pleistocene era*

"Ah~"

Great post ahaha.

Seriously, the man ripped through a dimensional barrier as if he just came out of the cold area from a supermarket with the same motion method here. That was genius.

Not gonna lie, Warriors Orochi allows for some truly hilarious stuff.

Lu Bu clone appears as a stage final boss? Pick Sima Zhao and ride him like a surfboard, then kick a giant fireball at his face. Not dead yet? Tag in Ryu and Izuna drop him.

4 Lu Bu clones as a penultimate battle? Switch between Ryu and Momiji and just keep Izuna-ing.

Then you get stuff like Abe no Seimei's temporal stroll and the entire Gracia recruiting mission.

Irritated with some missions. "go here before such and such!" *all paths are blocked off* "You failed to such and such!" Umm the fuck.

Also I have learned that the flashier officers like Wang Yi, Lu Xu, Guan Xing, Zhang He, etc, are freaking terrible for fighting officers because its a nightmare to aim their attacks because they dash around for combos lol. Great for mobs though.

Also I'm debating who to take into ambition mode. I wanna say Lingqi, but I will admit her cross pike can get boring compared to other weapons.

Also even though its just two ex moves, it feels wrong to use a weapon on an officer who doesn't prefer it lol.

Yeah. Projectile-based characters and single-sword styles are typically your best officer killers.

It doesn't matter too much. As you acquire playable officers, you can use them instead.

I've been on a super run with Gauntlet mode on WO3U lately. Quite fun, you can easily cheese out maximum combo setups with X character and Hundun is quite op to use.

Is wo3 something I should care about/look into? I only recently got back into DW, and hadn't played sincne 2 and a little but if the PSP version, then I got Pirate Warriors and that got me back into it. Player demo for Hyrule Warriors at GameStop. That was fun, despite the shitty game gear controller

Weird thing about Lu Linqui. Her cross pike is a middle ground. She wields it like a single sword weapon but it has the reach of actual pole arms, and she can boomerang it for mob clearing like flashover officers. It seems to cover ever possible niche, which I love.

So for secondary weapon I pick whatever is fun, but...does it compatibility really matter? I know higher stars means she can use Shadow Sprint but so few weapons use that, so she just 3 stars most weapons which I thought was useless, but its only a minor dip in strength, and can't use shadow sprint which...woopdeedoo?

Im trying to "settle" on a secondary for her, then get that officer to 50 to get the weapon skill for her.

Also is there w better way to deal with enemies always blocking, other than spamming switch attacks?

Last night I just figured out the trick behind storm rush too lol (appropriate weapon for blue icon, then deal damage to wittle away blue icon, THEN pres x+t at the same time for storm rush!)

Kinda irritated that She only gets the fox costume as dlc though...and most of Xincai's dlc costumes suck ass.

Also Hang Dan turned out to be remarkably badass. After facing him so much, from his dialogue to his design I didn't even realize he wasn't a generic officer, then I tried playing as him, and he's pretty goddamn solid, he's like a lesser Lu Bu!
