Lulu, you probably don’t know about the critical multiplier. And the Chaos Dagger+hornet ring combo.

I know about The Critical Multiplier.

They had that in DS1.

You're better off going with a Higher Damage weapon than going with a weapon that requires the ever elusive Critical Hit to get its Damage.

You can have multiple weapons in dark souls you know, if you parry someone just switch to a dagger.
Lulu
Lulu
Ofcourse you can... you can have all the weapons.... but only the ones you upgrade will actually be useful.

You gotta account for these Factors.
Crazy_Chin_Guy
Crazy_Chin_Guy
it takes like 20 mintutes to upgrade a weapon to 9 or even 10
Lulu
Lulu
Actually it takes 10 seconds but like I said... you need to actually have the resources to do that.
Crazy_Chin_Guy

I meant getting the materials to get it to 9 or 10. Just get the ashes that allow you to buy the shards

It is no use @Crazy_Chin_Guy , it doesn't matter that the game will give you plenty of mechanical options and elements to deal with a situation, where some people will find that something better suits them, if it is not "practical" to @Lulu means that it is useless and doesn't work.
Lulu
Lulu
Getting The Materials is determined by RNG... it could take minutes or it could take hours.

Plus its Grinding.

@Sotherius
LoL... have you even watched other people play this thing ? The only options are either you summon help or you exploit the AI's pathing constraints and other cheese methods. This isn't something that people want to do its something they're forced to do after dying so many times.
Sotherius

Yeah, i watched like, 5 different channels where people used vastly different builds with different approaches and stuff worked.

Yes different approaches because the ones that should work... don't... such as parrying.

Including parrying.

Oh I don't doubt you've seen someone parry their way through Dark Souls... like I said. Its possible but impractical and therefore useless.

For every 5 people you've seen use a mechanic there are 100 people who don't bother with it.

You should watch a regular non-masochistic gamer play through the series. You wouldn't be disagreeing with me if you've seen atleast one.
Sotherius

I did, and i still disagree with you, because i don't care how others play a game, even less about the playerbase that don't care about learning more than the basics of a game.

And that is because dark souls is not even a deep game or anything like that, you would cry if you had a tour on actually interesting action games.
Lulu
Lulu
The reason there aren't learning it is because ITS USELESS !!!

And what Action Games would you deem Interesting ?
Argentus
Argentus
No, most people parry, actually, because once you learn the timing, it's OP as fuck and cheeses the entire game.
Sotherius

Ninja Gaiden, Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, NiOH, the list goes on.
Lulu
Lulu
Well... Let The List Go On... I played 3 of those already.

@Argentus
In the first Game perhaps... in DS3 the Damage even with the Hornet Ring is lame.

The Guard Break Weapon Art is more useful than Parrying.

Another thing about DS1 was parry timing was similar to roll timing so pretty much any enemy you could evade was also an enemy you could parry on the first attempt.

Because the Timing is so different and delayed in DS3 you have to use completely different timings for rolling and parrying... infact some attacks have to be Parry as soon as you see the enemy flinch, this just sets you up to get hit by slow attacks.
