i think it's called retention, but i know exactly what you mean. there are those game where if im not playing it consistently i just forget everything about it, and when i eventually do go back to it i'm like "okay, i don't remember the controls, where i am in the story, what my main characters motivation is, the strategies i picked up, nothing"

It’s probably dementia, Alzheimer or short term memory loss.

I wouldnt say Alzheimer... more like a disconnect
