And the other 3d game, the majority of the gameplay revolves around counter-hits & launchers with no risk-reward between and rather than buffing fundamentals, they buff more options for the wall or stupid situational moves, while characters can dictate the flow of a game in 2-3 moves.

I think Speedkick's points stretch between both games. It's a waste of time to grind certain characters when other's can dictate the flow of the game so much better and both revolve around endless offense.

But also one game ended in a year so basically what I'm stuck with is what I'm stuck with. But the bikini butt rumble, volleyball, pole dancing game gets new content. It's frustrating man.

Solution's simple: One game, Work on the sidewalk, incorporate throw-breaks, bring back stagger, & get rid of meter. The other, buff fundamental moves & introduce players to more fundamentals rather than"f it, I'ma just work on my launch combos and die over & over until I get my launch and learn absolutely nothing" and get 1000+ wins struggling in green-yellow ranks.

And one more thing: Why do I feel like both 3d fighting games, in regards to buffs/nerfs, do I see this issue where if a character is obviously lacking fundamentally, instead of buffing the fundamentals, they buff mix-up, damage, or situational set-ups which does nothing for the character.

And a character that's super good fundamentally, either they buff and add to the one, potential weakness that makes them near unbeatable when you look at it on paper, or they nerf them but the problem is they still are really solid fundamentally & can still dictate the flow of a match easily.

Why not buff the characters with weaknesses fundamentally so they can also have a say-so in regards to the neutral game & dictate their gameplan better and not live & die off being faster or Crushes or YOLO stuff (CH, lows, launch, etc).

From your initial post I thought you were referring to SCVI. It doesn't really describe DOA6 very well. If the majority of your defense is relying on meters, you need to work on your fundamentals big time.

Not when I have to consider Break hold, Sidestep attack, and even break blow at times. And all those options get killed by a single move: T. After that, once meter's gone, then the minute I'm stunned, then I'm having to guess guess guess until I get launched...

thrown or hit into the barrels and explosives and die because there's no stagger escape or any reward defensive unless I do a YOLO move that ends up putting me in a worse situation if blocked.

Or what about a situation where I'm fighting a i9 and they do jab to throw and because there's no throw break system in place at all, then that becomes a mix-up that either leads to more pressure or a throw to the environment where I die yet again because either I get hit by a delayed string or I get thrown and die.

Tekken's not absolved either. I can't tell how many times I fight for example a Claudio and as I try to condition someone by pokes and movement a YOLO hopkick that's only like -13 hits and I die cause of a move that's low-medium risk but very high reward and it promotes more YOLO offense.
T..J. Bernard
T..J. Bernard
Until Claudio plays Dragunov or whoever and because they're much better fundamentally, the Claudio dies and the player drops Tekken for some random game.
T..J. Bernard

Both games turn to YOLO offense that reward no one as there's no thought or adjustment that betters a player. Just, I need a stun or I need a CH launcher and hope you don't die for it.

@T..J. Bernard I bet VF5 doesn't have these problems you're talking about.

Unfortunately, VF needs a VF6 badly...

(There are technically YOLO launchers in VF but it's nowhere close to like, a Tekken Claudio or Shaheen level.)

But yeah dude, try out SCVI. If you dislike it, then you can join Brute on hating it haha. Who knows, you might possibly enjoy it.

dawg there are too many fighting games out rn to be this salty over one not fitting your criteria, I'd suggest trying out another fighting game but on a more realistic note id say you could always go back to 5, pretty sure ppl are still playing it
T..J. Bernard
T..J. Bernard
It's not over one fitting a criteria. It's about one game basically ending after a year and it becoming a complete mess and the other progressively getting worse, despite the changes it did in a way to help improve players.

And I don't play 2d's or anime fighters so my options are limited to Tekken, DOA, or SC. And I like both games enough to try to dedicate myself to both but at the same time, the changes made to suit casuals and suit more YOLO offense is infuriating.
