ohh Namco ARE on the DLC wagon, look at Tales of Berseria, theres 6 costume sets announced 2 of which you can buy already and the game isn't even out yet. Plus all the DLC milking the iDOLM@STER games get xD
@Nyte you are complaining a lot about this game, In your eyes a game is nothing more then a thing you play 1 or 2 years?
Don´´´ t you think the hard work into making a game just to make a sequel so soon is a waste?
But will they keep doing it four years after release, with two updated re-releases? Only time will tell. Based on all the insanely perverted costumes they had in LS that they nickel-and-dimed for, I can only imagine what they'll do once they get to the full game.
Don't get me wrong, I've had tons of fun with the game. But after a while, I just need something new. Get what I'm saying? I've played games for a long time, hell I still pop in Halo 2 every now and then. But I'd like something completely new to play.
Theres plenty of games that to do that with, KOFXIV is just around the corner and Tekken 7 early next year. DOA5 still gets new content outside of costumes also. A few people including myself have moved on already temporarily or other wise.
You say that like an insult. I rejected the 'hardcore' label once I knew what it meant in SCV, that I had to accept that shitty new characters because "that fluff doesn't matter". Listen, I was happily enjoying DOA4 all the way up until DOA5 came out (though I got into it extremely late).
Oh, and "soon"? What's the definition of "soon"? It's been four years. Most games get a sequel by now, hell there have been entire blockbuster trilogies made in that timespan.
I'm sure DOA6 will come around eventually. We know of its existence based on the simple fact that they said DOA6 would fully utilize the power of current-gen.
Tbf theres almost always a large gap of atleast 2-3 years between fighting games, SF4 came out around 2008 and only got a sequel in 2016. Tekken 6 was also 2008/2009 isnt getting a sequel on consoles until 2017
Those are pretty big gaps, they've had filler games in between but so has DOA, 5 Ultimate and Last Round that only just came out last year.
2 years later, no new game, but only new DLC.
Also can you honestly think that after they get Mai in DOA5LR in september, DOA6 will be released so soon?
After reading this interview --> http://www.freestepdodge.com/threads/tom-lee-sure-loves-crossovers.6449/ DOA5 LR might get more DLC, increasing the Lifespan. :D
Yeah, don't worry, I'm not expecting DOA6 to be announced until sometime after Nioh comes out (and inevitably flops). If I were in KT's shoes, I'd have nu TN only make DOA games, cause it's the only thing they can do right.
