More games need to add block buttons. I had my wall spammed in Ishtaria by a salty noob because I wouldn't trade my only 7* for a 6*. I then had to change my status to "I don't trade" so I avoided these.

I'm pretty sure that the Mortal Kombat games have a block button. Doesn't Injustice have you press back to block like every other 2D fighter?

MK does have a block button, and it is smarter than "every other 2D fighter" for it.

Block button doesn't fit 2d fighters IMO, back to block is great in 2d fighters.

If you hold a reverence for traditional fighting game mechanics I can see where you'd feel that way. But traditions are myopically archaic.

I mean, MK is not high on my list of favorite 2d fighters, and the block buttons is part of why i don't like how that game works in general. Having crossups is a good thing in 2d fighters when done right, and it also feels more natural to me.

I don't really like many 2D fighters, but then again, I don't like many 3D fighters, either. Most of the genre is recycled trash feeding on nostalgia.

MK fighting games are generally considered some of the worst games competitively in the FGC and having block buttons contributes to that like how Sotherius pointed out. Cross-ups are a large part of opening opponents up and block buttons in 2D fighters take that away. Can you imagine Street Fighter, Guilty Gear or King of Fighters with block buttons for instance?

No, but I also can't imagine them as good games.

well, if getting crossed up is killing you in injustice 2, just pick scarecrow, you can't cross him up, he has a down up teleport. it's not mk9 raiden/rain levels of good, but it's still decent, just don't get 2 predictable with it
